My first visit to this Michelin starred restaurant, and I was not disappointed ! From the warm greeting by the Maitre D to to attentive and professional waitstaff this promised to be an evening to remember. I decided on the 5 course “Experience” ( basically a tasting menu) and was provided with a succession of beautifully presented, intricately flavoured dishes that really tickled the taste buds. The starter, Our Sea, was in three parts, followed by Roast Quail Breast, then Catch of the day, next Suckling Lamb and finally Choc Mousse on pistachio.
All dishes presented and explained by the waitstaff - as I was driving I wasn’t able to sample the wines that had been chosen to complement each dish, but the one glass I had to go with the Suckling Lamb was excellent.
If you want a special night out, then this is the place to visit !

We have eaten at this restaurant several times every winter for a few years because of the excellent food and great service. We have always said it has had the Michelin quality, and now it has got 1 Michelin star - well deserved! ⭐️ Tonight we came back for the first time after it got its star. If possible it was even better and not more expensive! We are coming back, again and again. This is dining at its best! Great food, excellent service and pleasant atmosphere 🥰

Having visited 12 months ago for a special treat, we returned to find the Michelin organisation agreed with our opinion by awarding the famous star. Unfortunately the service to start wasnt brilliant as the website opening hours were wrong, our confirmed booking was not on the list and the sommelier prepared the wine flight instead of our requested wine menu viewing. The choice of pink was also limited, othervthan a massively priced, and recommended ( obviously) Ribera. However, after that, the mixtures of food, tastes and textures reminded us why we keep going back..fabulous place to eat, great views, and deserve star.

This was my first visit to this restaurant and will definitely not be the last. We had a table for 4 to celebrate a birthday. Everything was outstanding, as indeed you would expect at a Michelin starred restaurant, but a star does not create the right ambiance, does not make the guests feel special.
From the moment of arriving at the entrance, there is a sense of a very personal service. The staff are very warm, friendly and relaxed while conducting a high level of service in a seemingly effortless manner.
We all opted for the experience tasting menu (with the wine paring) and it certainly was an experience! Be prepared for the wow factor, not only in the presentation, but in the many explosions of flavour that await your taste buds. There are not enough words to express the journey of flavours we were allowed to enjoy. A huge thank you to the whole team, including the proprietor Gregorio Fernández who also took the time to visit tables and be involved in service.

Having dined at Umiaya a few nights before, I was a bit aprehensive as both restaurants share the same head chef. However, upon being welcomed by the proprietor and being shown to our table, I knew that this was going not going to be disappointed.
Our table was inside in front of a pair of doors which no doubt are open in the summer months, that looks out onto a good sized patio with additional tables located on the edge of the hotel swimming pool.
We chose the Experience Menu with accompanying wines. Having read a previous review that didn't rate their experience at La Aquarela, stating that the wine pairings did not compliment the dishes, I was curious to find out for myself.
The menu was 9 course for 110euro with the usual amuse bouches and pre dinner delights thrown in. The wines i thought paired well, even the dry sherry {of which i'm not a fan) worked with the relevant course.
The menu was quite fish oriented which wasn't an issue, with a couple of meat dishes thrown in. Each course was a culinary delight both visually and taste wise with all the usual pomp and ceremony that can come with Michelin dining. Pouring soups and sauces, unusual crockery, fancy reveals. The wines were described and presented well by them wine waiter.
Overall a fantastic dining experience. Attractive, young and experienced staff atteneded to us throughout the evening all with multiple language capabilities.
Would highly receommend a visit

I have nothing to add to the many glowing reviews already posted by obviously satisfied diners. The Experience menu is very aptly named because each dish is a different taste sensation, none of which were disappointing. Our Sommelier recommended some lovely local wines that matched our tastes and perfectly complimented the food. I recommend La Aquarela to discerning diners who don't mind paying out for the very best.

If you appreciate excellent gourmet experiences, perfect service and local sourced meals just make yourself a favor and book a table in this precious gem in Gran Canaria.
We didn’t expect to find this we when we found it while walking in the area, decided to try and believe me when we say it was a totally unexpected excellent experience. We had the experience menu with the wine pairing, and every single one of the courses and the paired wine were on point… we were told the menu changes with the season and that 95% of the ingredients are all locally sourced in the Islas Canarias. The presentation of the courses was beautiful and coordinated with he wine servings… we took a lot of pictures but i do not want to spoil it for you guys so just trust this and book. The price is considerable for the experience you get… so every euro is worth of this experience.

This restaurant is simply outstanding - but so it should be for the price. Everything about it is absolutely first class from service to atmosphere and most importantly the food. We went all out for the 8 course "Experience" menu. Flavours were exquisite. Along with a bottle and a half of wine and water the bill came to €339. Not something we would normally do but felt that the "Experience" alone was worth it.

Aquarela is a very rare thing in the Canary Islands: modern haute cuisine. It is a restaurant where one might say that the chef, rather than the customer, is in charge. He offers two tasting menus (one vegetarian, the other not) with wine pairings. There is no a la carte. His style in innovative. Not every innovation works. There is emphasis on presentation, with specially designed crockery. The good dishes are very good. The wines are interesting, but not every pairing suited my palate. The dining room is lovely and the service is excellent. At about €200 the cost is normal for this class of cuisine. The restaurant has no street entrance of its own. Access is via the main entrance of the Apartamentos Aquamar.

This Michelin restaurant nearby anfi beach is a great experience. We got the menu and there many extra suprice, it is a Michelin restaurant, and that is always expensive, but compared to same level restaurants in Denmark, this was really value for money. The service was the best we ever tried.

Had a very convincing first experience at the Aquarella. The offer is limited to 2 different 10-course menus, no à la carte, which is a bit surprising. We opted for the mixed one ( the other one is vegetarian) and were really impressed. The structure of the menu, the quality and diversity of products, the presentations of dishes were brilliantly mastered. Some courses were indeed memorable (like this anthological « breaking the rules »!) and the chef is offering some audacious dishes with very pure and strong tastes that you don’t find every days (hyper concentrated sauce reductions, intense mojos, etc). There was basically no weak point during the whole meal. Very friendly and efficient service. Impressive wine list (essentially Spanish of course).
This is a highly deserved Michelin star that can compete without problem with any other in the world (contrarily to the other one star a few km away which doesn’t play in the same category in my opinion). Absolutely worth the detour.

For 120 Euros/full menu, drinks not included, you get a four-step dinner experience, each with four dishes. Inspired in flavors, food and wines from the Canary Island, you experience a well deserved MIchelin star. Super professional and friendly staff, commanded by the great Gregorio, owner and visionary of this hidden gem. Atmosphere is charming and you enjoy excellent sea views from the terrace. It is a must if you travel to the south of Gran Canaria.

We could not fault the food or service. It was easy to see what the Michelin man (or woman) saw. We had an excellent dinner served by polished and knowledgable staff. I certainly recommend the restaurant.
The ‘but’ would be the setting. It is a poolside restaurant overlooking a port. The ambience, the music, the lights shimmering on the pool are all fine and in keeping. The view is of a massive development on the far side of the port (looks like a giant cruise ship at night) and from time to time residents of the same building the restaurant is situated in do wander by the pool in bathing attire etc. It’s incongruous rather than off-putting (don’t be put off by the reception area either).
I repeat my recommendation because there were not enough distractions to spoil the fine food, wine and service. It’s just a bit odd.

All the staff love this restaurant, they also love their customers and it shows. Situated in a hotel it has excellent views, a picturesque sunset (if your reservation is not too late) and three inventive menus which are creative, full of flavour and fun. We could not find a suitable wine (for us) on their extensive list so after further discussion the sommelier dove into the cellar and came up with a stunning option from the Pyrenees whose wine philosophy mirrored both our sympathies and our palate. For the ingenuity and skill compared to similar restaurants the price is unbelievably reasonable. You will not regret eating here.

Arriving at La Aquarela we were greeted in a lovely manner and seated in the corner; 4 adults and a 11 year old. Having the Experience menue, except for the kid, was a wonderful food experience.
Sometimes Michelin restaurants try to be too cool for school, however, the dishes were comparatively "simple" dishes.
The wine recommendations were top notch and in the reasonable price range.
Our kid was served Michelin star small meals consisting of a pasta dish, a meat dish, a fish dish as well as a dessert. Needless to say none of us left hungry.
The service is friendly, relaxed and very attentive. The ambiance was modern, relaxed and not noisy.
I will definitely come here again.
