So this is the pub that’s the “Crown and Anchor” in ‘Ted Lasso’. You need a reservation (yes, true) to have dinner and they ask for a nominal deposit to hold the reservation. They won’t seat you before your time, so showing up early won’t help, but hey, it’s a pub and they do sell excellent adult beverages.
The pub is pretty much exactly what you see in the show, and it’s a lot of fun. The food, service and staff are excellent! We both got the fish and chips, it was so good that even my wife who isn’t a fan of fish ate every morsel of the extremely generous portion
There’s plenty of memorabilia, and even a “Ted Lasso corner” where we were lucky enough to be seated.
The sole negative was the restrooms, they were in dire need of cleaning. Like frat-party level awful, but I can’t take a star off for that, it might have been an off day.

Visited this Beautiful Pub for the first time on 21st November 2024 around 2-3pm for lunch with my brother who I had met up with after walking the Thames Path from Putney Bridge to Richmond. I would then after lunch continue with my brother to Kingston Bridge completing the 13 mile leg which was we had a great time.
This second meal sit down for my walk was great, again I didn't make any booking but we managed to get a table for 2. The atmosphere was inviting and well organised.
I started with a lemonade which was £4.25 and my brother got a Pepsi which again was £4.25.
I ordered the Beer battered haddock with triple cooked chips, crushed minted peas, curry & tartare sauce, lemon which costed £18.50. This was a great combination and is one of my favourite dishes so don't be surprised if my next few reviews I will order fish and chips from the pub. The Haddock was lovely and the chips were perfectly cooked with peas that were great to eat.
My Brother ordered the Cheeseburger with Monterey Jack Cheddar, pickle, burger sauce & chips (with no add ons) at £17.50. He loved it!
We didn't try the list of desserts but before coming here I had my eye on the Warm chocolate brownie for £8.50, maybe next time.
The main attraction to coming here was the hit show Ted Lasso that is available to watch on Apple TV shot in Richmond with some filming done in this pub.
Concluding my review they had top service. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely come back here to eat again to this 'Wonderful Pub'!

I love this pub. My friend ordered and looked forward to the delicious-sounding bar snack "Crispy squid with chilli, coriander, lime and smoked paprika aioli" for £8.95.
It was the smallest portion of calamari any of us had ever seen, and for that price it was sent right back. An extremely disappointing portion for too much money.
It did look tasty though!!!

I booked a Christmas party for eleven of us. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived so we sat down and staff got the table ready in front of us.
It took around an hour to receive our starters.
We then waited and waited for our main courses. My friends who hadn't had starters were absolutely starving when the food finally arrived 1.5 hours after we'd sat down. There was no apology for this.
Everyone's food was just warm, and one lady sent hers back to be heated up. The rest of us were so hungry that we ate the warm food. The only thing which arrived hot was a bowl of sprouts to share amongst ourselves!
We then waited ages for the table to be cleared, in fact I had to ask as a waitress rushed by. One of my friends actually started clearing our plates herself.
The staff were so unattentive. We even had to ask for the bill twice!
We spent around £1,000 between us on food and drink, so I asked at the bar if I might receive a complimentary drink to say thank you for bringing eleven people, but was told a definite 'no'.
Why did all our food take so long to arrive when we'd all submitted our meal choices weeks in advance?
All-in-all it was very disappointing experience, and we will not come back next Christmas.

Such bad food! For a start, the item I chose said plant based on it. However, when it came out I luckily asked the waiter if it was all vegan as the Yorkshire pudding looked the same as my friends. He said no the Yorkshire pudding and the cauliflower cheese wasn’t vegan. I was extremely disappointed as the roast coast £18.50 and you expect the whole of the meal to be plant based if it says it on the menu. The pie was dry and the roast potatoes had clearly just been reheated and were disgusting.
I would just go for drinks if you do go and avoid the food

For any "Ted Lasso" fan, it's a must visit!
Our server Lucy was the best and absolutely indulged in our touristy Fandom lol
I booked a few months in advance and requested the TL Booth and they accommodated us which was great!
The food was standard pub fair and arrived pipping hot and quick, the pints delish and cold (tried some of the locals on draft).
Would definitely recommend and thank you again, Lucy!

My hamburger was dry, tough, hard to chew and hard to cut with a knife. A small portion with very little taste. The hamburger was small and over valued.
Additionally, I sat outside at their picnic tables and expected outdoor service. After waiting for an undetermined time. I entered the establishment to request service. At this time, I learned that you have to order inside.
I wonder, if a sign could be posted to alert customers to order inside.
After placing my simple order. The meal took a more than usual time to be served.

I’ll admit that I only popped in for the Ted Lasso connection even though I don’t live far away. Suckered! Lovely sunny day and the Tiny Rebel went down nicely even at £6.65 a pint. The bar snacks were fine but a total ripoff: five small pieces of calamari for £7 and six padron peppers for £6.75. Plus they overcharged me by 50p which I might now have mentioned had the food seemed like good value. Not sure how that happens in this day and age, given that the server (who was perfectly pleasant - not her fault) simply keys in the items. So, I’m left with the impression that this place is ripping people off, and I’ll stick to the pub across the street in future.

I don’t like writing negative reviews but when one is needed it has to be done. I was searching Richmond for a meal and was hankering for a steak. They had a sirloin on the menu with mushrooms, tomatoes, peppercorn sauce and triple cooked chips for £27. I also ordered a pint of London Pride. The ale was fine. The steak arrived and looked lovely. I ordered rare and it was cooked perfectly. However the “triple cooked chips” were ordinary frozen chips-or if they weren’t they were the worst triple fried chips ever. The mushrooms were like three shrivelled discs of leather. The peppercorn sauce tasted of pepper but there was not a lot of evidence of any peppercorns. At £27 this was no longer good value. I did complain and the bill was waived-a sad confirmation that this meal not as advertised.

Great location and nothing else. Inside literally smell, dirty dishes outside waiting forever before someone will clear the tables. Toilet disgusting , plastic cups, average food. Im not sure what was wrong but waitress who serve looks like was drunk , altogether nothing special , if not the location we will never get there and definitely dont back. There is much nicer places.

As for many, we went to The Prince’s Head because of its role in Ted Lasso. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food and service. The specialty sandwich was excellent, as were the fish and chips. All the food was served hot and fresh even though it was quite busy. These were the best French fries we had during our entire stay in England.

We have been to Richmond twice this year, having never been before in the 32 years I have lived in the South East. Both times we have also visited this pub.
Our first visit was with relatives, from the USA, who watch Ted Lasso, and this visit was because we liked the pub and wanted to return.
This pub is not only the the pub from Ted Lasso, it also a pub where staff are helpful, friendly and they serve good food and drink. There is an area reserved for people dining, which means if you are eating you are not surrounded by people drinking, it is a lovely dining only area.
We had a great meal, we shared the Bread as a starter and both had Pies for mains, the Steak and Ale and the Sweet Potato and Goats Cheese. We had the Strawberry Eton Mess for dessert.
When the bill arrived we noted a 12.5% service charge (optional) is on every bill. We didn't mind but it didn't seem to be on there. When we asked about it we were told it had been removed as he didn't think they had provided good service. You can't say fairer than that.

Lovely pub in a nice area with great staff, but the food is very pricey for what you get , especially when you consider what's available within walking distance.
I ordered a chicken salad which you can't really go wrong with, while it did indeed taste lovely the size of it for £15 pounds was absolutely shocking, if I hadn't of been with a friend in a rush to eat I'd have sent back and left.
Seriously, it was about half a chicken breast and some leaves... £15!!!!
Things are tight for everyone at the moment, while I understand you are a business and need to make money, ripping off customers is not the way to do it.
Definitely won't rush back to eat, there's many places near by where you will get more for your money..
Staff are great though!

We visited the Prince's Head like so many, because of Ted Lasso.
It was so much more than that! The staff is kind, funny and just brilliant and we can only advice everybody who goes there, to not just take pictures, but to enjoy the whole experience. The food was outstanding! My husband said his steak was the best ever and the Sheppard's pie that I had, made me want to take the cook back home with us.
Two thumbs up and five stars to this little gem. We will be back!

What shocking service. Called in wanting a light lunchtime meal. Whilst talking to the barman, an officious staff member, with an unwelcoming and poor attitude, cut in telling us we would have to wait two hours for a table. He made no attempt to find out what we actually wanted and no offer was made for us to eat at the bar. We could see that there were free tables, maybe they were reserved, however, this doesn't negate his dreadful attitude. We said that we would leave it, but on leaving, suddenly he said they could find us something. No way were they getting a penny from us. We found another Fuller's pub nearby, where we had a great meal with great service.
