Hungry after an impromptu trek from Ancient theater to Klima, the small fishing village, we stopped at Astakas as it was the first restaurant we saw from the stairs (and the only one in the village actually) and we loved it! We took the saganaki shrimps and the beef in beer, both dishes were really tasty and well served! We also took fried zucchinis and got to take half the plate home as we were full and they were very well served. A lot of people stopped by just for drinks and a plate of fries while we were eating. We ended up waiting for the sunset on the beach, taking photos, and came back at Astakas, ordered iced coffees and a chocolate tart (that is a delicious chocolate cake not a tart) to share for the sunset and it was magical! Price was fair and reasonable, a gem of a place!

This is the authentic, relaxed experience tourists dream about. Attentive waiters in white shirts and jeans, the manager stopping by to initially help with the menu and then again to seek feedback. The drive down to the waterside location is fun, but best done with a navigator, and a driver comfortable with backing up on single lane roads.
I second the advice in an earlier post to call ahead for a waterside table. But all the tables have a terrific view. We had vegetarian and seafood, all of which was good. My mussels were presented in a fennel broth, the peach salad was loaded with flavor from flowers and toasted nuts. The vegetarian pastas were thoughtfully designed.

Recommended by a local, this restaurant is by the sea in Klima, just a few steps away from the characteristically fishing houses. Is an al-fresco dining restaurant and with one of the best views of the sunset. The food couldn't be fresher and more delicious. Great options of freshly caught fish. Ask your server for what is fresh. Service is really good and so are the prices. Is definitely not a tourist trap.

Yesterday evening we arrived at the time of our reservation and after 30 minutes we didn’t even had the chance to order a bottle of water. We repeatedly asked to different waiters if we could have at least something to drink and smiling they told us: “I’ll tell my colleague/one minute” and then they disappeared. Around us lots of waiters were cleaning other tables and bringing food to other clients... and we were sitting in the middle of the restaurant completely ignored.
At the end we could just give up and leave our table.
When we stood up and complained no one tried to fix the situation, by offering us a glass of wine or taking our order. Unprofessional and unkind. Never again.

We arrived at the restaurant at 8:30, since the restaurant was packed, they told us to wait one hour, wich is fine, the 15th of August you’re lucky enough if you can find a table. We sat down at 9:40, we ordered, and my girlfriend got the food immediately, me I didn’t get any food until 10:40, even if I asked many times what was wrong with my order. To make a long story short, I watched her eating and she watched me eating at 11. To repair the mistake I received the 2 dishes at the same time, so while I was finishing the first, the fish was getting cold and stiff. Food quality everage, or maybe I was just pissed off enough to understand what I was eating.
At least they had the good move not to make pay my dishes. When you’re serving people on holiday, in my opinion the service is more important than the food, people don’t want to get stressed or chaise a weiter to get his food for hours.

This spot is the Disneyland of Milos with its colourful fisherman’s huts and instagram tastic photo ops. But the true star is the village resto and their grilled squid. Morning noon or night, come, eat, ignore the idiots taking snaps everywhere and promise you’ll come back one day to do it all again for posterity.

We read many reviews about this restaurant. It is located in one of the most beautiful villages of Milos, called ‘Klima’. This place offers dishes that give emphasis on Greek flavours with a twist. Food was delicious but it was a bit overrated and expensive. We suggest that you try the squid.

This is a very popular restaurant - it would be best to make a reservation. But we came upon this place and didn’t have one. But it’s possible to be put down on a waitlist.
Its location is wonderful… on the beach, well located. It sets the mood for a really pleasant evening. It was a very busy evening when we (a family of 4) dined here, but the servers were very courteous and accommodating.
Take advantage of the seafood dishes!

Located right next to the sea, Astakas is one of the best fish restaurant you can find in Milos.
We were two couples and hopefully we managed to get a table since the place was packed.
The staff were very helpful and they invite us to pick our meal through the fishbowl.
The Sommelier suggested a great local wine and dinner closed with a pleasant dessert.
My suggestion is to book for dinner time since that's the best time to visit the place.

A great place for some quality seafood.
We had calamri which was stuffed with cheese and vegetables. It was very nice and cooked to perfection.
In addition, we had a great Greek salad, accompanied by lovely fresh chips.
We also had rice with fish, which was also very well cooked and had great flavours.
The views are spectacular! We were on the seafront and saw the sunset.
If you can time it well, like we did (roughly 6:30) we got a table straight away, otherwise there was a wait as many tables are reserved.
Well worth a visit if you are in Milos

We went to Astakas early and we did not have any problems with finding a table, but I would recommend making a reservation if you choose to eat here as it becomes a really popular destination. The food was really good and we ordered many dishes (fava, Greek salad, fried zucchini, fried potatoes, squid, pasta with fresh vegetables). Besides good food, the restaurant has also a nice view, from where you can watch the sunset.

The place is wonderful and the views to the sunset are beautiful. The food was very good and the fish was tasty (except for the feta cheese which was average). Great service and kind waiters. The prices are unfortunately too high because they exploit the fact that they are the only restaurant in this area with a beautiful view to the sunset.

The coffee was awful, even in london there is better espresso. Considering food there was only one option, eggs. There was exactly like i cooked them the first time i cooked by myself, extremely oilly and almost burned. Although the place is great i can't understand what they were thinking about breakfast

Amazing location, food was good in quality and taste, but a bit overpriced. Good service. Would have liked it to be a bit more cozy, it is a very large and busy restaurant and food seems to be coming out in a hurry thus lacking the calmness we seek while being on vacations.

Astakas restaurant is located at the North village of Klima on the left side (while staring at the sea), of the famous beautiful colored painted doors that were used as boat shelters for winter.
The view is spectacular. It is eye opening space restaurant with many tables to choose where to sit (more than 30), a mini bar where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a drink of your choice, while you have to wait at rush hours. It is a restaurant where you can make a reservation but we got there without having booked any, and after a 20 min of waiting we got a table right across the seaside. Everything we had was amazing and the staff was so pleasant, professionals, and helpful. We visited it mid September 2023. An unforgettable experience. The only thing that might be considered is when strong Northern winds occur, you can’t sit at the seaside. It is a Northern spot. But there is a space where you can sit away from the seaside about 50m away where is protected by winds, so you can enjoy your lunch/dinner as well.
This place could be great for occasions as well like wedding dinners etc because it is big, as long as the unpredictable weather permits it.
