We've just got back from Boa Vista and this place made our holiday. We visited first on the Monday evening after our taxi driver told us that it had a fantastic reggae night. We hadn't booked a table so unfortunately we were unable to eat as they were booked out but we sampled the mojitos and listened to the band and really enjoyed the whole vibe of the place. So much so that the following day we walked an hour and a half down the beach from our hotel to Morabeza and had lunch, we shared a lobster pasta linguini (after seeing the size of the portion delivered to the neighbouring table) and it was absolutely delicious and the bread was too.
After getting stir crazy with the food at our all inclusive we booked a table here for the following Monday Reggae night. I had the grilled fish and my hubby had another pasta dish, well quite honestly it was for both of us the best food we ate all holiday, there was steam coming out of it for a start!! The veg was delicious, the grilled fish was seasoned beautifully our plates were full and then they bought out chips and bread too.
We returned to Morabeza during the day for the last two days of our holiday and ate there again both meals again were lovely.
The staff are great, very attentive and friendly and they make the best mojitos in Boa Vista.
The place just has such a lovely vibe. We fell in love with the swing seat for two inside, it had the most beautifully framed view of the sea.
The bar is set in the sand with a palm leaf roof and is filled with quirky carvings and furniture.
Mottos adorn the bar and toilet area and for those reviewers moaning that there was no water to wash your hands, you need to open your eyes to your surroundings as there is a clearly marked open close sign to the left of the sink and underneath there is a tap! Above the sink another quirky sign about the morabeza open close water system.
They could easily fit way more tables in but this would completely spoil the atmosphere and ambience and you can tell that is what this place is all about.
You definitely must visit if you're in Boa Vista but go off your own backs, I personally wouldn't book a tour guide buffet night, through your hotel. It's only 10 euros in a taxi or a walk up the beach and their actual menu is delicious and cooked well. I'm not sure the buffet experience would do it justice.
Brilliant bar, fantastic staff, great food, fun atmosphere... This place really has it all.

Loved this place.
Booked as an arranged trip with TUI and really enjoyed it.
We were met on arrival with complementary liquors and we immediately explored. Located on the beach, you can get to hear the waves, watch the sunset whilst drinking classic cocktails and eating quality food.
The atmosphere is very relaxed. No wifi which is a good decision because who needs it when you have your loved ones to talk to?
The food was buffet style comprising of starter, main course of fish, lobster or chicken and a dessert.
We were treated to traditional dancers and fire eaters around a fire pit, playing drums and keeping the beat for those who fancied a boogie in the sand.
There are photographers around who will take your pictures. Do NOT be put off by these guys. They are unobtrusive, polite, fun and take pretty good pictures to boot. The best bit? They don’t push you into buying or rip you off. Our pics were displayed on a laptop at the end so we could have a browse. I was expecting around 25 Euros for 1 or 2 pics but no, they said they can do a special package deal for ALL pictures taken (about 30-40) for 25 Euros. Bargain!!!
If these guys offer to take your pictures. Let them!!
All in all, a great experience in an amazing setting.
Would highly recommend this.

Visited here twice whilst staying in cape verde, both organised by tour reps. In the daytime we had lunch there with a choice of meat fish and salad. Able to watch people kite surfing and have a walk on the beach.
Went back a few days later for the evening dinner, able to watch the sun go down, had some great food, including fresh lobster, which is included in your price, local entertainment was also provided. Lovely evening and great to have a break from the hotel

Having got a cab down arrived at 6.30 in the evening place almost empty. Got told we could have a table if out by 9. As we ordered the most expensive food on menu. Fillet steak, Lobster and cocktail, plus starters this attitude changed somewhat on ordering., The starters were carbonara which according to my other half was delicious and I had Goat Cheese and Tomato salad which was tasteless. Fillet steak ( far better in hotel) was served with really thick asparagus spears which I love but these were really woody and not edible, with a dish of end of bag frozen french fries and saute potatoes mixed, as I say end of two bags nothing fresh. I had 1 and a half lobsters which were over cooked tough and tasteless served with some kind of nondescript mixed veg and rice. 4 Strawberry cocktails that were really sweet. Bill 103 euros and took 45 minutes in and out. We were offered the show, of a few men jumping up and down to drums on the beach for 10 minutes between courses but how can you do that if you've not booked! Chances are you are here on all inclusive, save your money the hotel buffets are far better.

We booked the sunset dinner as it was highly recommended by the tui rep.
When we arrived the staff were not very clear about what was to be expected and we were hanging around the doorway for ages as they struggled to find everyone a table.
We ended up going to the bar to buy a drink as it took so long for them to come to our table with the complimentary drink.
There was long gaps between the entertainment and the buffet and we felt a little lost throughout the evening.
We were told there was photographers to take sunset photos but when we went outside we couldn't see them.
The drummer show was very good but once that had finished there was not much else to do or see.
The food was OK but would of been alot better if it wasn't a buffet as we had to queue for ages. Table service would of made the evening a much better experience.
Its a nice setting but I think it was very overpriced for what we actually got.

Booked a table here before we travelled as saw a lot of trips go here and didn't want to do an excursion.
Taxi from Rui Palace cost 15 euro return which was great as we got there for 6.15pm (sunset was 6.30) and arranged pick up time for 9pm (could of actually stayed later but we had a 4yr old with us)
The food was beautiful and could not fault any of our meals, we got to watch the fire show with traditional dancers and it was a great evening of entertainment.
Quirky beach bar with spectacular views and the ambience to match.

This is the excursion to do in Boa Vista! What a fabulous evening and highly recommended to everyone. On arrival we were taken off road down a beach path to the Morabeza Beach Bar & Lounge.
On arrival we were presented with a welcome drink which was quite strong but super yummy! We were told about the order of events for the evening and taken to a table of our choice.
The location is absolutely fascinating, all the frame work, interior and work done is handmade by the owner himself.
Before food was served we were allowed to stroll along the beach and watch the sunset go down, the photographers were excellent and took some beautiful and Romantic photos . After this a buffet style starter was served, with our first of two drinks, we opted for red wine! There was so much choice and the food was excellent, so nice and different and was a nice change from our hotel food. After this we had the live African drummers, dancers and fire breathers. What a show!
The energy, and experience was such fun to watch and still don’t know how the fire eater/breather does what he does! At the end we were invited to dance with them and although this was so fun, it was very hard work! I don’t know how they do it!
After this dinner was served, again buffet style and there was a main choice of chicken, fish, steak and lobster. The chicken was excellent and my partner loved the fish, so much choice to go with it as-well. The night ended with live music from an excellent band. We danced and sang and again this was so much fun! I must say aswell the Staff were very friendly and really do live of the the vibe “ no stress”The saddest part was leaving, we didn’t want to go back and wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much for an incredible night. This was the highlight of our holiday! Highly recommended! The only thing I’d say they could improve on is the potential for a longer stay into the night with a later transfer back to the hotel.

A beautiful hut on the beach with stunning views.
The staff are welcoming and sometimes they have professional photographers to take pictures (at a price of course)
Food was delicious and on the night we visited we had a performance from some locals which was something else (in a good way!) Followed by a live band.
Reasonable priced drinks, a little more expensive that other places but still reasonably prices.
Would defiantly recommend a trip here. Depending where and who you ar staying with I'd look at the trips via Giggle Geckos not TIU reps.

On holiday in Cape Verde 🇨🇻 and decided to book our wedding anniversary here after being advised it would be a fabulous night, great food etc. TO OUR DiSAPPOINTMENT, it was not a good evening. It cost €60 each, we got one drink and the food was passable. If you ordered from the actual menu for the place you got bigger and better selection. We were told we would have drinks with our meal, when in fact we got ONE small drink. We got collected at 5pm to see the sunset and you could get professional pictures too.
They were told it was our anniversary but nothing special was given and TUI said they would do something special as per our booking. It wasn’t it was very disappointing. Our evening was spoilt and would not recommend this to any.
We had to wait ages between starter and main, then lined up to get food, where other diners had there’s brought to them.
Looking at the food that was ordered by individuals was by far a better quality, it was as if you had to have less.
We left and made our own way back to the hotel gusting another €10 for a taxi. All in all €130 for a regrettable evening which spoiled our anniversary.
You be better to book it separately and arrange it yourself.

Well what can I say!!! We have come home and feel it necessary to share our experience with you all.
We arrived at morebeza which is down a sand track at first we were thinking where are we going and what have we done we’re staying at the palace and this did not look like the palace.
However further down the track the bus stops were welcomed by one of our hosts who warmly welcomed us in and sent us over to another lady who gave us a quick run down of the night we have in store and then we were giving some shots off a local drink can’t remember the name but I will always remember the taste.
We walk into this beach bar and our shocked with the amazing decor the warm friendly vibe and instantly the bud journey down is long forgotten.
We then have our orders taken and go out and explore the amazing beach in a beautiful setting Gemma could not stop taking photos we then were shouted back in by one of the team for our starters.
We then go to a buffet place to pick our started from a wide variety and this suited us down to the ground once our started were complete Andrew approached us asking about our food and asked about us taking a genuine interest in how we had experienced boavista we had a laugh about the football as I’m still pretty sure stoke city are not a real football team more like a rugby one ;-) which we found really welcoming and enjoyed hearing about his experiences on the island.
We then went out for the African music and dancing and flame thrower again surprisingly this was a lot more entertaining then I was expecting.
We then went back for our mains I had the steak and thought it was cooked really well for how I liked it my wife has the chicken she was happy with it but did prefer the steak there were a variety of trimmings put on the buffet on offer to go with our mains and we were absolutely content with the food and portions.
We then had some live music been played while we finished our deserts off again this was very classy and played at low soothing tone for us to enjoy the winding down of our evening.
The buses arrived shortly after this around 9.40pm our
We were again sent on our ways and thanked for our evening by the team and I can honestly say what a fantastic night it was.
We will also be going to visit morebeza in the day time as we really enjoyed our experience there.
We can honestly say that we really recommend this trip to anyone who is looking for a night away from the hotel the value for money and treatment was first class.

We booked this trip with TUI and it was the best trip we booked. Everything was fabulous. The service was excellent all the staff are so welcoming. I had lobster and my husband had the steak both were delicious. Watching the sunset was beautiful. The entertainment from the local african dancers was just brilliant the whole vibe made the evening magical. The local photography took some amazing pictures of us and only 25 euro's for all of them to be sent to you via email well worth it to have these beautiful memories to keep.
Thank you to everyone at Morabeza Beach bar for making our evening so special.

Great little beach bar, quirky and cool. Perfect place to kick back after a walk along the beach.
Small beer or a soft drink is about 2euros. We were too early for lunch but we saw a colossal fish arrive straight from the boat so we reckon the bbq later will be a good one! Staff are lovely.
Definitely worth leaving your resort for a visit

Visited as part of the sunset dinner arranged through TUI. The venue itself is unbelievable, its what you imagine the perfect beach bar to be like, quirky design, beautiful location with fun and friendly staff. The food was incredible as well with the steak particularly standing out as one of the best I've had, and I've eaten a lot of steaks. The African dancing and fire show were so much fun and the performers look like they are really enjoying themselves too! Drinks are reasonably priced and a really good quality, my wife was overjoyed with her Mojito! The photograph package was also a fair price and we received the pictures by the following morning. The band that played at the end of the night were great too and again so much fun! I wish we had found it earlier in our holiday as i would definitely have come visit more than once, hope to be back again!

Went twice during our holiday and both times were great. Lunch was relaxed with very good food and service.
Second visit was at the Sunset dinner, and this was brilliant. Time before dinner to take photos on the beach (and we also had a photographer take photos of us - these arrived by email the following day). We then helped ourselves to the buffet before watching the African show, the show was great fun, singing, dancing, a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
