I was lucky enough to be invited to a birthday lunch in The Peat Lunch and it was truly a memorable experience. An earlier visit was under the previous ownership and the contrast this time was so marked not least , the more casual dress of the staff which was far less intimidating than hitherto! Everything lived up to my... More

Seems a shame that the Peat Inn is only number 1 in the village of Peat Inn. It could be ranked extremely highly in a much wider area. The restaurant manages to combine refinement expected of a Michelin Starred venue with a down to earth feel transmitted by friendly, accommodating staff. Not a eyelid was batted at our dietary request,... More

The Epicurean Experience lived up to its star billing. From the welcoming glass(es) of sherry onwards we had a sequence of nice experiences and culinary delights. The taster menu in the restaurant was exquisite. And afterwards we relaxed in our own 'upstairs/downstairs' suite before a peaceful night's rest in a comfy bed. Next morning our breakfast was served in our... More

A Restaurant that has kept it's standard over the years. The Lobster starter was excellent as was the Duck. The Sancerre by the glass was one of the best, I have tasted. Overall a very pleasant experience, which will be repeated

Visited The Peat Inn for lunch. Very pleasant ambience with very welcoming staff. Opted for the lunch tasting menu which was a fantastic tantalising taste journey which I didn't want to end. Very fresh tasting produce which was elegantly presented. Plenty time given to savour each course which had all been introduced by the attentive waiting staff. I will definitely... More

We received a voucher for the overnight stay and tasting menu as a wedding gift a few months ago and thoroughly enjoyed redeeming it! The room we had was lovely, as was the champagne and brownies we were given in our room. Our dinner was amazing and they accommodated our food preferences nicely. We had 6 brilliant courses one after... More

A first class meal in a lovely setting enhanced by excellent service. An extremely reasonable price for the set meal: beautiful canapes, bread, amuse bouche and sweetmeats as well as the starter, main and pudding. If you are anywhere near Cupar, book a table - you will not be disappointed!

This was a package which included a night's stay at their on-site accommodation with a six course tasting evening meal and breakfast the next morning. The room was split level with sleeping on the ground floor and a seating area above where breakfast is served (more later). It was large and bright with the usual modern ensuite. Not quite your... We stayed one night at the Peat Inn last week on a visit to Scotland, my wife booked it as a treat for us, and it certainly was. From the moment we checked in, which was smooth and efficient to our leaving the next day it was a pleasure to be there. Our room was warm, clean, tastefully decorated and... More

Fabulous lunch here. We had planned to have the 3 course set menu at £22pp but surprisingly there was only one choice for each course & we didn't like the main course. That being said we opted for the a la carte menu & we're not disappointed. From the amuse bouche to the coffee & petit fours everything was delicious.... More

Description
The Peat Inn is owned by award winning Chef and columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine. With Geoffrey at the heart of the kitchen and Katherine's warmth and care filling the restaurant, they have been successful in building on the very fine reputation of one of Scotland's most cherished destinations.
The Inn has existed on this spot since the 1700s. Today, the Michelin starred restaurant with rooms continues to welcome guests who appreciate the special and very personal experience which is the hallmark of The Peat Inn.
Three small dining rooms make up the restaurant, providing an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Each room is also available for private parties if required. The reception lounge with its deep sofas and open log fire, creates an atmosphere which is elegant and refined and made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and attentive service.
A few steps from the restaurant is The Residence where eight individually designed luxury suites offer the opportunity for a rather special night away, where the pleasures of the table spill over into a charming over-night setting.
From your aperitif upon arrival to coffee and a liqueur before you have to depart, we are sure you will enjoy every moment of the wonderful cuisine and hospitality at The Peat Inn.
