Loved it. Indulgent meal with friends while up in St Andrews for a golfing trip. We all had the tasting menu with tasting wine. Great experience; nothing to fault. Sommelier was knowledgeable, friendly, and introduced us to some spectacular and unfamiliar (to us) wines. Being...More

This was a wedding gift to us both. It was absolutely wonderful. If we have tasted better food with such service I don’t know where!! Our six course taster menu was unbelievable. We can’t recommend The Peat Inn highly enough. A special memory for us.

We booked here for a special occasion at lunch time and the service and food was excellent however I couldn't help but feel slightly let down. This was due in part to my own high expectations of what a Michelin starred establishment would be like....More

Third visit. Tasting menu. Driving so couldn't sample the wine flight (which seemed popular). Must stay in the rooms next time and really go for it. Absolutely top drawer in every respect but not 'stuffy'. Nice to see (unlike down south) the service at your...More

A birthday treat offered the chance to sample the Peat Inn again! Here I enjoyed the usual tempting treats and amuse bouche before settling into an unusual (for me) roast squash starter followed by duck two-ways with puy lentils. An unctuous prune souffle with walnut...More

So first the positives. We went for lunch and the decor and atmosphere were lovely. On the menu there was a very good selection of non alcohol options. Both my wife and I had dietary requirements and it was therefore disappointing that the staff serving...More

The Peat Inn is owned by award winning Chef and columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine. With Geoffrey at the heart of the kitchen and Katherine's warmth and care filling the restaurant, they have been successful in building on the very fine reputation of one of Scotland's most cherished destinations. The Inn has existed on this spot since the 1700s. Today, the Michelin starred restaurant with rooms continues to welcome guests who appreciate the special and very personal experience which is the hallmark of The Peat Inn. Three small dining rooms make up the restaurant, providing an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Each room is also available for private parties if required. The reception lounge with its deep sofas and open log fire, creates an atmosphere which is elegant and refined and made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and attentive service. A few steps from the restaurant is The Residence where eight individually designed luxury suites offer the opportunity for a rather special night away, where the pleasures of the table spill over into a charming over-night setting. From your aperitif upon arrival to coffee and a liqueur before you have to depart, we are sure you will enjoy every moment of the wonderful cuisine and hospitality at The Peat Inn.
