Lively place to eat. Good food (try the local mussels), friendly atmosphere. But which is better, Murphys or Guinness? The jury is out.

As you would expect in an area jutting into the Atlantic, the seafood is really fresh, open sandwhiches served on homemade bread. Three generations of the family enjoyed an excellent lunch in this lovely village pub.

We stopped here at the end of the day touring Beara and had a wonderful meal. Although it was busy, the food was delicious and the service was good. Lovely fish chowder and toasties, and the fish and chips were wonderful.

Stopped for coffee on the road to Kenmare. The inside was gorgeous - all in solid wood, with a wide selection of drinks and beers on tap. Wish I could have been in for a couple pints some evening.

The Village Inn seemed to be a nice mixture of locals and tourists (and dogs!), and was full when we were there on a Friday evening. There were about four veggie options, all typical pub food but the option I chose (garlic mushrooms and chips)...More
