We were staying at a nearby villa and stopped off here on our way from the airport. The restaurant was full to the rafters and there was no room . However the owner kindly gave us directions to another restaurant in a nearby town. Due...to its close location to our villa and its great reviews we decided to book a table for our last night of our holiday. We returned again and were warmly welcomed by the owners family and quickly sat at a table. They have a wide menu and was the first place that our vegan friend could get a meal on the island ( having lived off cold veggie mezze or salad all week) The owner arrived later and walked around the table chatting to all the guests even sharing dog snaps with our friends. We settled on the local wine to drink ( the red was made by the owner) and it tasted great, it was a bot of a wait for the main meal so we ordered some bread and olives to tide us over. Our veggie friends enjoyed a hearty meal of spaghetti and tomato sauce, I had a great tasting calamari and my husband enjoyed the specials dish of rabbit, stating it was the best tasting he had ever had. After the meal we were given a free portion of semolina cake we was so light and fluffy and great tasting. They had a local musician playing later in the evening , and all the locals seem to enjoy singing along. As we are keen dances we asked the waitress if she knew any local dances , to which she asked the musician to play a tune, pushed the tables to one side and got us up on the dance floor for a lesson. Soon we were joined by many of the other customers, and then we had to offer a return lesson in tango and cha cha. Such great fun ! We then asked to try a local drink which resulted in 4 glasses of what looked like local moonshine being brought to the table, strong stuff! We spent the rest of the evening there drinking and chatting and listening to the music. All the staff were so friendly , the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the food great. It was a good job that we were staying so close as it was a bit of a stagger home. We could see why people travel from all over to eat here , really recommend stopping off here for a drink or something to eat.More

My wife and myself visited for dinner & it was so good we then returned the following day. A family run restaurant, Katerina is the most superb hostess & her family make everyone feel so welcome. I have decided that if I was able to...choose my last meal it would be at Pagkratios washed down with the lovely village wine they serve. Their sausage and halloumi are fantastic and if you are looking for the best little taverna in Cyprus it is here and well worth the journey!More

We visited Pangratios due to the great reviews we read about them. It is truly an amazing place. Owners are very friendly and always with a smile on their face, they made us feel like home. The food was absolutely delicious, the beef stew was...just perfect, exactly how my mother would make it!!! Very tender beef and the red sauce was to die for. They also offered us small dessert at the end of our meal (Ravani or semolina cake with syrup) which was the perfect ending to a great meal! Prices were very reasonable for both quality and quantity. Strongly recommend this place!More

I would go for the great Cyprus food experience and the village traditional look and feel. Try it in the evening. People there are amazing and will give you their best. Not the best Cyprus food in Cyprus, but definately one of the best (if...not the best) in Paphos, Polis, and all area.More

Small traditional tavern, with friendly staff. We went on a Sunday and we had their meze. Their meze was tasty with very nice souvlaki and souvla-lamb. Not the best meze but not the worst. The only thing is that is expensive for 19 euros. You...can find better meze and with bigger variety elsewhere... (For example they didn't serve us any potatoes or chicken...)More

Family run taverna. Found this little gem and was well worth the drive from Paphos. We had the vegetarian and meat mezes which was all cooked and served with love and fresh ingredients. Situated in an old stone school house, dating back to the 1800s,...swamped with family history. Wouldn’t miss it.More
