We went to the restaurant on 1 October to finish our short break. As we aware that the restaurant is in the hand of Michelin-Starred chef and in a luxury 5-star hotel, that may make me have a high expectation. Starting from the reservation, I’ve...made a reservation through the phone around 3 hours before arrival. We arrived at the lounge around 6.30 pm but everything is dark. We could not find where is the lounge so we called to check with the hotel again. After that, there is one staff walked out and turn on the light but not even say hello or welcome. Only one of around eight curtains has been opened so we decided to not get inside the lounge. Given the hotel is on the kind of private island so you need to take a small boat to go to the hotel. We waited for the boat, the guy came across the sea to pick up us without any greeting but, at least there are two guys are waiting to welcome you at the other side. Unfortunately, after they greeted us, no one escort to the reception and it's quite grey ambient at that time, we couldn't see any signage. Luckily we found it! The girl at the reception took us to the restaurant and finally we’ve arrived :) The restaurant design is good, fresh air, and good view. I would suggest to go a bit early as when we arrive it was too dark to immerse the breathtaking view. For the food, I would say it is good. Thai sharing style with a la carte menu. In the menu, they didn't mention or separate each course properly (starter, main, dessert). But I could understand as a Thai resident anyway. What I like from the food we ordered are coconut and turmeric curry and one of curry dish with pork belly which I couldn't remember the exact name. We are not a big fan with the dessert at Nahm in BKK so we didn't order the dessert here. Some of my suggestions would be; - The arrival lounge should be ready if you got the reservation, mean that you may know there is guest coming. - Cold towel or welcome drink could be served when the guest arrive during awaiting for the boat. - The rice bowl which they served should have something to cover so the rice wouldn't be cool and dry. - Thailand is a land of smile, the team member should greet the guest with a very warm welcome. I hope this would be a constructive criticism and hope we could have other opportunity to come back again. Happy Friday :)More

A restaurant and bar in a fantastic and unusual setting! The staff were excellent, suggesting many ideas for nice photo spots around the premises. We attended the happy hour which made drinks very reasonable indeed. The cocktails looked cool and tasted good. Definitely worth visiting...for a classy and romantic evening!More

It is our second time in Cape Fahn, beautiful hotel located on a private island. They recently opened the new restaurant Long Dtai on top of the Island. The food was unbelievably tasty and the service was great. My best Thai food experience in Thailand...so far. I highly recomend it. The bar offers amazing cocktails as well. Please give our thanks to both Managers, Timo & Olivier who made our dining experience even more enjoyable. We will be back !More

Quite exciting getting to this place! A truck drives you through the shallow water to the island and then a buggy transfers you to the restaurant on top of the holl. A beautiful view over the ocean and the coastline. Nice sunset. We started with...their Equilibrium Gin cocktail which was very refreshing. For food we shared a couple of main courses for starters: coconut and turmeric curry with swimmer crab, which was delicious and the Stir fried Pork with curry paste and sad tot bean, which was very hot but outstanding! For mains we then shared a grilled fish in whole and 4 grilled giant Prawns. The fish was somewhat overcooked but the prawns were great. There was also a very delicious amuse bouche. Service very friendly but some staff a little forgetful. All in all a memorable evening and we will be back for sure to try out the items on the menu that we have not had.More

We had visited Mr Thompson's Nahm in Bkk some years before so were keen to try his latest venture. Our dining experience started with a little boat ride to an island off the beach at Bo Phut to the Cape Fahn resort. On arrival we...were taken by buggy to the top of the island to the restaurant and bar. It's a beautiful resort with tropical inspired furnishings and muted tones. We had a selection of recommended dishes - and true to form the chilli wasn't dumbed down... the turmeric crab curry was the standout dish for us - rich and creamy and because all of the meat is already picked... all we had to do was spoon it down! A good selection of wines and a delicious mocktail to start.More

Went a couple of days ago, on the bais that an ex-colleague in Singapore knows the owner, but had no experience of the hotel or restaurant. What a pleasant experience the evening was. It starts with a somewhat bizarre experience when you drive in the...car park and walk down a narrow alley, with a couple of French bra on the beach, and no idea where to go next, however this truck comes to pick you up, as the water appeared too shallow for an outboard motor, and weds you over to the island where the resort is located. Once there, and on rival at the restaurant, the place exudes charm. The weather was nice enough to sit outside and the staff were not only extremely knowledgable but got the portion sizes perfect for us. The food was as the restaurant name suggests, Southern Thai seafood, and was really excellent. It was a nice touch that David Thompson the chef popped out and spoke to each of the tables individually. We have already booked to go to his restaurant in HK, and we haven’t even left Samui. A superb choice and different to other restaurants in Samui. Thoroughly recommend, and will surely be backMore

We were treated to 9 courses of succulent Southern Thai cuisine served at the lovely open-air restaurant perched on the hillside overlooking Choengmon beach.
