I used to love this place 4 years ago, but today I was shocked :( we came just for desserts and coffee, although we could go in any other place in Opatija or Volosko. The Semifreddo was very fluffy made with pumpkin seed oil. The...consistency was not frozen at all, it was perhaps brought too late to the table?! However, it was pumpkin all over, not bad, but very dominant as flavor. The strudel in glas was average at most. I complained about the semifreddo and the reaction of the waiter was: "You know this is not ice cream? It shall be like that. It is not liquid, so its semifreddo." So, now we learned that every cream that cannot be drank and is cold is called semifreddo 🤣🤣🤣 I was offended that I do not know what is the difference between ice and semifreddo, I felt not welcomed, and was extra surprised since people with us are known and respected (as they thought) in this place.More

What a beautiful feast of good food. Scampi where a real treat and the slow cooked lamb was out of this world... excellent service and the musician who sang Beatles songs made it an evening to remember. Maria Malta.

Very good restaurant, great service, dog friendly, in a little square inside the medieval town of Kastav. We were there during the Jerry Ricks Blues Festival and a Screen was erected so we could listen and watch the live concert even better than on the...main square. Recommending the excellent dessert with assorted treats. Also White House eine (a cuvée) very gone.More

Warm and steamy early in the afternoon we spent in a pleasant shade with a delicious meal - file sea bream and ray fish file with vegetables and simple salad, semifredo on the and. Small homemade bread is fantastic! Prices are correct. Staff was kind...and friendly. We’ll be back.More

We chose Vegetarian menu for both of us as proposed by the restaurant -it was good but you must like cheese very much ... all plates had some except for dessert. The main issue was communication with People working there - we didn't had explanations...on anything during the evening , except for one plate. Concerning wine, only one proposed-cabernet sauvignon - produced in Croatia- for french People loving good wine, it's a disappointment. They talked very well german, not english. : a bit frustrated from a "gourmet restaurant", as they named it. Plus, something was wrong in the sauce of my dish, but I never heard any apologyze. Communication to review.More

This place is so worth a drive. The location of this restaurant is in the historic area in the small hill town (must see) and I assume they will go for Michelin star. The quality and presentation is for sure there.

This restaurant is in a hotel, which is usually a red flag for me, but I just had the best meal of my 20+ day trip!! I opted for the fish menu- 3 courses, all a surprise. Every single thing was excellent. It was a...ton of food, with wine pairing. Service was excellent, food was on par with anything I’ve had at Michelin starred restaurants. Presentation, flavor, texture, it had it all. Even if you’re not planning to visit this hill town, add this restaurant to your itinerary. Excellent meal, and as a bonus they made mine completely gluten free. Pretty impressive.More

We read online that the chef hear was the father of slow food in Croatia so we made a reservation for our one evening in Rijeka. Getting to the restaurant was about a 25 minute taxi ride to Kastav, but it was well worth it....The food did not disappoint. There really is no menu. The owner asks you if you what fish or meat and if you have any allergies. Then you get three delicious courses at very reasonable prices given the quality of the food. The fish all tasted wonderfully fresh and was perfectly prepared.More

Everyone at this hotel and restaurant made us feel very welcome apart from the maitre d' who, for some reason, didn't speak to us, check our table or look at us. It felt a bit weird as he talked to everyone else. That apart, we...had a wonderful dinner and stayed overnight.More

Dined in when staying there. The restaurant was excellent with good service and stunning food. No menu, the waitress asked did I like meat or fish, I said both so had a mixture. Great fish starter, comprising four different items all excellent. This was followed...by a lamb pastry which was a bit like a samosa. Main cause was grilled fish and this was followed by a trio of desserts again all great. They offered wine with each course which was very good.More

Stayed on my own on a business trip to Rijeka. The room was very reasonable via Expedia and met expectations. Staff friendly and had a great stay. The continental buffet breakfast was very nice although maybe a limited selection but what there was was of...very high quality. Wifi was fine but us unsecured so VPN a good idea. Nice to walk around the village which is well served by bars. Restaurant was outstanding, no menu as such just asked whether fish or meat and any allergies or dislikes. I actually asked for seafood starter and meat main which was no problem. Service relaxed but efficient. Will definitely returnMore
