Really superb food, all of our mains and desserts beautifully cooked and delicious. Dog friendly. Immaculately clean with pleasant oak panelled decor. Only disappointed to hear that owners selling up after August and we wished we had discovered it years ago.

Dropped in as they were closing but still made us very welcome and allowed us to stay and have our drinks in their garden. Really lovely pub and great beer!

I rang mid week to book for a group of 8 for a Saturday night meal- the lady said no initially unless we booked for 6.30 which was a bit too early for us- she then offered a later table with some apologies that we...might have to wait a while. That was fine by me. We arrived to find that this time of the year they only served food in the front bar - adding 8 at a busy time was quite an ask. We wrote our order down and everyone’s came at once promptly the only issue being that there was a confusion about two steaks or one- when this came to light the landlady could not have been more helpful- the rare steak as ordered turned up very quickly with a free extra plate of chips for the table and was delicious. The veggie option was unusual and really tasty. All the food was sensibly priced. The men in our group were taken with the draught beer and liked the pub so much that they went back the next evening and reported that the atmosphere was good even with only a few people in the bar. We wish there were pubs like this in Oxfordshire near us! There seemed to be a nice mix of locals and visitors- and dogs were welcomed ( I am not a dog person and even I thought that added to the charm of the place).More

Intimate small pub with excellent food. We have been to the Bell a few times and the food is always very good with a simple but interesting menu. Recommended.

She does leave an awful lot to be desired in terms of welcoming people( eg customers ) but just ignore her and enjoy the food which makes up for her
