This gorgeous Bed and Breakfast was the loveliest surprise on our tour of Quebec. It has a understated elegance and charm with immaculate standards and service. The proprietors were very welcoming and accommodating. Our room was impeccable and so comfy. The breakfast was exceptional--fresh croissant with divine chocolate and carmel with fleur de sel spreads and an abundance of fresh... More

Had delicious hazelnut ice cream. Beautiful chocolates but pricey. Quaint little shop. Must try if in Kamouraska.

We saw the sign for La Fée while driving on route 20 and decided to venture 7 km off the highway to La Fée Gourmande. It was well worth the time. The girl at the counter was very nice and perfectly bilingual. There is a crazy variety of truffles, gelato and candies, but mostly chocolate. The chai chocolate was particularly... More

Charming chocolate place. Not to be missed. Ici cream and latte in the court yard were much appreciated

okay we did not dine. Have to make a return trip for that. What we did do was visit the small cottage style chocolaterie in the rear of the Auberge/restaurant. I need to tell you all about that. Walked in to see about a gift (who does not like chocolate right?) The selection and the quality outstanding. Unique flavours like... More

A great assortment of locally made chocolates. Very rich (chocolate wise) as well as dollar wise. Many unique and different varieties such as chocolate quinoa and some nice to see things like lemon and orange peel covered in rich chocolate. Truffles available too. Bring a credit card with a large limit!

This store/ cafe is situated at the back of the owner's residence. They watch you drive in and comes out only when they see you coming. Apparently, they make the chocolates at the basement of their house. Made gourmet-style, they have quite an assortment. No free tasting. You have to buy and they are not cheap. They pack it in... We went there for the first time this week although we have been to Kamouraska many times. The place is definitely worth the visit. The place is not huge by any means but it has interesting stuff. We bought some chocolate butter (different flavours), some chocolates (of course), some chocolate confections made to look like flattened cupcakes, and some chocolates... More

While the Fee Gourmande also offers lodging, I've only visited the 'chocolaterie' itself which is around the back. Wowzers. Really, really good chocolate. I got to speak with Jean Phillipe this time around. This is a fellow that is really passionate about chocolate. It doesn't come cheap but it is absolutely a stop worth making if you want to try... The chocolate house is in an octagonal building behind the hotel and bistro. Cocoa beans are sourced internationally, blended and tempered to perfection, and beautifully displayed. The packaging is elegant. The chocolatier (clearly the owner) loves to talk about the qualities of different chocolates and methods of preparation.
