They made a very good goulash and sour mushroom soup with meat with a delicious home-made bread. They portions are huge, the prices are good and they are willing to package your the rest to go, if you do not manage to eat everything.

I am a big fan of Hungarian cuisine and this family-style restaurant has served better-tasting dishes than a Michelin star one. It is a small village, so not many people speak English, but I had no problem ordering. The service is very warm and welcoming. Some guests were dissatisfied, because of the waiting time for tables, but what they failed to realize is that this is not a Mcdonald's in the city. It is a family-owned restaurant and b&b, and we should not expect the same speed of service as in a mainstream place, where everything is pre-made and quantity counts more than quality. I don't recommend this place to people who expect to get food on the table as soon as they get in the door.
However, I highly-highly recommend it to people who are patient, who value that good food and good service takes time. Food is amazing. Nature is charming. And people are just so down to earth! Please, everyone, learn to slow down and appreciate the beauty and charm of this small village inn! You can't find the alike too often.

We loved the place! Staff was extremely friendly, food (Hungarian style) was tasty and the surrounding is beautiful and peaceful. There is little to choose from in the area (practically 1-2 restaurants), so this is by far the best choice of restaurant.

This restaurant proofs, a small business can be a great Business. The owner cooks. Food is excellent and large. Everything is prepared locally incl. the jam in the pancake. Try it!

Wonderful location, delicious food, huge portions, sapid homemade palinka, welcoming staff. Perfect spot if u want to experience something different in the heart of the Aggtelek National Park and part of the Unesco.

We’d finished a tour through caves and didn’t want to have food in Aggtelek. So moved a couple of kms away . This restaurant is located in small countryside village Josfavo. Village has some renovated buildings, more renovation on- going. It’s across street from a small stream that flows thru village.
Seating possible both out- and inside. Menu also provides English and German translation. Traditional Hungarian kitchen. Food tasted very well. One has to be really hungry / have an enormous appetite to finish meals as meals are sizable. Doggy bag available though.
Dessert palacsinta filled with poppy “paste” and cherry sauce with whipped cream. Lovely. They also serve ice coffee with lemon ice cream - refreshing variation to vanilla version.
Service very attentive and friendly. We visited on a Saturday. The restaurant was well frequented but food arrived pretty fast.
One can pay by bank card ( maestro).
I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

We had dinner here after our hike and it was the best idea. The food is traditional and regional, the staff is kind. You can be seated in the garden or also inside. We tried sztrapacska and sztrapacska with stew. The service was also quite quick specially that the place was quite crowded. You can also pay by card, and they give you the left over if you want.

We had lunch and dinner here. Dinner was great: a glass of palinka as a welcom, a delicious soup and the main dish with lamb. Traditional hungarian food, very well done, tasty and everything.
Due to the large portions, next day for lunch we decided to have just the soup which turned out to be a very very large bowl. Still delicious, of course.
In both cases the owners were really nice and our waitress spoke a very nice english.
Moreover, the price wasn't high at all.
I woud strongly reccomend this restourant!!!

We stayed in the Tangerszem (Tarn) Hotel near the cave as part of a small group in early September. The restaurant was closed, so we had breakfast and dinner here, which was a 15 minute walk down through the woods. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and the food was fantastic. We would highly recommend eating here.
