The decor of this restaurant is so classy and pleasing, and the open view to the sea, with a breeze coming in, is great. When I sat down, I expected my dinner to be a bit expensive. It wasn't. I decided to try a dish I had never had, the Farfalle with smoked salmon and cream. Absolutely delicious. As was... More

Absinthe is a charming spot up above the main strip of Kamares with beautiful views or the harbor. The food is fresh, delicious and beautifully presented without being pretentious. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. Basic Greek food with a flare. It was hands down the best food we had in all of Greece.

We ate here several times and the restaurant has some very interesting dishes. Certainly not the usual Greek taverna fare. My favourite was the Hot and Spicy Goat. Anyway this was my joint top restaurant for Sifnos and I look forward to eating there again next year.

We had a long stay on Sifnos back in 2012 and ate here three times if I recall correctly; and although this was not exactly aeons ago, it was good to see all of the old “favourites” still on the menu, along with the same head waiter - a very charming and knowledgeable man with a nice, dry sense of... Had one dinner - pasta in tomatosauce and red wine. Got a delicious little starter. Pasta was very good. The wine was good, but a little chilly. The room was very nice - and French. The waiter was exellent. Planned to go back, but it didn't turn out so - may be next time.

Yes it is expensive, but so worth it. Just go! On a par with any restaurant in any European capital. Beautifully prepared and so many tastes. Delicious wine AND the presentation of the iced water jug with little tap dripping onto a sugar cube on a perforated spoon over the absinthe was brilliant and delicious! Thank you so much.

We booked this restaurant based on the reviews, it was my birthday so we really wanted something special. The restaurant itself is really nice, the position, decor etc were all lovely. We are both vegetarian, we had seen the menu prior and there was a nice main course for us, unfortunately this main dish had been taken off. We did... More

Dear Lyn D, Thank you for your recent visit to Absinthe. We want apologize for the unavailability of the main dish you came for. The reason for this is due to the fact that we will be closing for the season at the end of this month and some of the components such as the chestnuts in that dish you... More

Absinthe convinced me once more, it's my number one restaurant on Sifnos! Unique atmosphere, professional but very friendly and personal service. Delicious food from Greek salad or the green and white salad to the main dishes like the hot and spicy goat (all time favorite) , the new saffron risotto with crayfish or a fresh swordfish - it's hard to... The curried goat dish was one of the best dishes I have ever had, it was amazing. The tuna tartare and chocolate soufflé were also very good. The staff were very friendly and informative. You do pay more for the experience, but definitely worth it.

My wife & I ate at Absinthe a week ago and rated it very highly. We had a table by the full length glass window/doors which were not fully open due to the windy conditions. The menu and specials made interesting choices and the food matched the price for quality. The waiter or perhaps manager was helpful & knowledgeable with... More
