I visited the restaurant because I was told the food was really good. We ordered a 4 formaggi ravioli and a mushroom risotto. We were both starving because of a long hike but still none of us liked the food. The risotto didn't had the...texture of a proper risotto and the flavor was too strong. The ravioli felt like some pre-cooked ones. The tiramisú was maybe not so fresh in my opinion, and produced some stomachache to my girlfriend afterwards. Also, juice was really watered. I can read all the good reviews and all I can say is either that's really the best you can get there or the people haven't visited enough good restaurants. The place is nice and kind of romantic. If you have no high standards in italian cuisine you probably won't complaint.More

In the moment we entered the area we felt like arriving at a different country. The rustic decoration gives the place a very cosy touch. We had lasagna and without lying try that was definitely the best lasagnas we have ever tasted in our lives....The service is excellent and very friendly. Gabriela, the owner of the restaurant, even took the time to have a chat with us. All in all a great experience and definitely recommend if you spend some time around Manta.More

We’re in Manta/Montecristi on a private tour (on a cruise) and this is where the tour guide took us for lunch. I was expecting to go someplace where we would get empanadas or such but no, he takes us to this fabulous little place. There...were 12 of us and the service was great without being intrusive. The sangria was fabulous and very reasonably priced (the whole menu was reasonably priced). A couple of people did not eat and they were not made to feel less welcome than the rest of us. The group had local beers, pizza, various pasta dishes, and lasagna (I know I’m missing something). Everyone was happy with their meal. Great location, great ambiance. We would be most happy to return!More

The last thing we expected to find in Ecuador was a first-class Italian trattoria, but there it was! Set in a beautiful green location high in the hills above Montecristi, Trattoria Da Gabriele would be an ideal spot for a romantic dinner. Our party of...four had a delicious pizza lunch -- everything was fresh and well prepared,More

During a day trip to Montecristi we stopped at Tratoria Da Gabrielle for lunch. While waitining for our meal they served us home made garlic bread which was fabulous so we had great expectation for the main course. The seafood lasagna was a deception with...too much creamy sauce, chicken breast with mushroom sauce taste good but the meat was not tender, last the spaghetti carbonara was 4/5. Ambience was excellent and great decor like the real Italy with the Godfather music playing in the back ground. Probably still the best in Montecristi.More

As a family we had "prosciutto pizza", "ham and onion pizza" an a vegetarian one, all very tasty. The onion soup was also very good. And all that in an unexpected place, up the hill

Wow, this has become my gold standard for TRUE al dente pasta! They have an authentic Italian menu who's daughter, Gabriela, carries on the great tradition of her late father....

We went to Trattoria Da Gabriele last week for late lunch. It is a very cute and romantic Italian restaurant in Montecristi, Ecuador. The food was excellent, the service.....well,,,,it is Latin America and things just move slower here.Relax......look out the windows of the beautiful little...valley, and enjoy the fresh prepared meal. My daughter had the 3 cheese ravioli and I had the Spaghetti Bolognese. Both were excellent. Garlic bread could have been better.....for some reason they simply don't seem to know how to do garlic bread in Ecuador...haven't had any done well here yet! This restaurant is owned by an Italian Couple and they give a personal touch to it all. Highly recommended, and an unexpected surprise for us.More

Our second visit to this restaurant - still amazing. Food is spectacular. The menu has everything from pasta and risotti to pizza and seafood. The seafood cannelloni was delicious. House wine is good; bottles are pricey. Atmosphere is "old Italy" with great night views of...Manta. The location is not in the main town but all taxis know where it is. They do accept Visa/MC.More

Had some wonderful memories at this restaurant. The owners and staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food and experience was very enjoyable, it felt like we transported to italy for the evening. The ice creams are the perfect way to end the night and...of course the tiramisu. We strongly recomend this restaurant and will visit again very soon, beautiful place.More
