Exceptional food & Outstanding service!!

During our 7 day visit to Spiti Valley we visited Himalayan Cafe atleast 5 days for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Each time we were well looked after by the staff, we made alterations to our meals according to our preference's and they were taken care with love! This place is in the main Kaza market hence it was usually full. They have limited seats as any other cafe in Kaza/Spiti and it is out in the open making the experience superb! The food is exceptional and the service is outstanding!

Worth a visit!

It was a rainy day when we visited the Cafe but the food made up for it all...it was quite delicious. Cafe's ambience was quite nice, creative and lively. There are lots of books to choose from as well as board games etc too. Theres ample space indoors as well as towards its outer area, but yes please take a table that suits your group size as customers keep coming so no one should be left waiting that long. Would surely recommend this fantastic place not just for food alone but as a good hangout zone too!

Best place to chill out with friends in Kaza

Good collection of books to sit in a cozy corner over breezy weather while u munch .....Play board games till the food is being served.... Ordered: 1. Yogi's bowl - heavenly 2. Israeli salad - scrumptious, unique and filling 3. Paneer chili 4. Hakka Noodles 5. Veg Momos 7. Manchow soup... Excellent hospitality must visit while u are in Kaza

No value for money, exorbitant prices compared to quality

The restaurant is quite expensive compared to the quality of food they serve. Imagine a piece of cake for more than Rs. 250; one can get a pound of cake at the same price. In fact all items were pretty expensive.

Best cafe in Kaza. Period.

This is perhaps the best restaurant / cafe in Kaza. Initially we went for evening snacks & coffee - very crowded but managed to get seat. We were so impressed that we again visited for lunch after 2 days. All the items that we tested, be it veg+ chicken pizza, pad thai noodles, thukpa. chocolate brownie were fantastic. Don't leave Kaza without visiting this place at least once :-)

Slow service and average food

Ordered momos, coffee, paneer chilly and pizza. The momos and coffee were fine, but the paneer and the pizza dish were very average. Panner wasnt soft at all while the pizza was nothing much to speak about. The place has good ambience overall but the service is quite slow too.

Awesome cafe

Visited the Himalayan Cafe twice. The owner Vishaka is very warm and welcoming. Understood our food taste and accordingly gave us awesome food. A must visit if you are in Kaza. Also the music played is brilliant. Did not feel like leaving the cafe but all good things come to an end and so did our visit. Left with a heavy heart and on trudged our way home. Would recommend this cafe to all visitors to Kaza. Don't miss out on this gem.

Relatively better, place with no hospitality

I am mot surprised to see reviews of ex-workers not getting paid. Was there last year and saw the money minded attitude of the owner being in the hospitality industry. Yes, am aware it’s not an charitable institution but somebody needs to remind them they are in hospitality. At least have ethics. They offered the room to somebody else after committing to us, even though we were eating at their restaurant itself and were to to pay after eating the meal. They could not wait for us to finish eating or have the courtesy to ask / check with us. They want immediate gain.

Love this place! A must visit!

A quaint little cafe in the heart of the wanderlust town of Kaza, The Himalayan Café is run by Vishakha the sweetest lady here! Vishakha is warm, loving and a great host! She personally looks into every bjt of the operations, be it the cleanliness or the food!! The food is delicious, the portions are pretty big and worth every penny! They use great quality and gives good quantity. The head chef here has international experience which he definitely brings to the table!! The staff is warm, cordial and welcoming, would love to come back here again!! A must visit in your spiti trip, can't miss it for the moon!! P.S.- The small plates have big servings, they believe in bringing a big smile to the customer!! Love their seabuckthorn drinks, grilled chicken in lemon butter sauce, fried chicken on a bed of fries, chilli cheese toast, pizzas and desserts!!
