Good base to start a multiple day hike or do cultural daytrips. Nice old German Heritage buildings in the area. A loy of them unfortunately weren't preserved well.

The town is in the highlands.It is a rich agricultural area with excellent cool weather.The residents are predominantly farmers growing fruits and vegetables which are then transported to major towns and cities
One thing that was troubling me was that its too cold in lushoto but everything was fairly nice, i didn't except since it was my first time.
We neede to escape the hot and humid environment in Dar es Salaam and Lushoto was it! Clea air friendly people and lovely hikes
