How I wish I had checked the reviews before going last week! The sandwiches were truly awful, dry bread, I had ordered tuna, onion and mayonnaise but it was just tuna, it wasn’t spread properly. We asked for a refund. Such a shame the old...cafe was much better value!More

Oh dear wish I had seen the reviews before l went to Flowerland cafe - sadly they are all true. This place is truly awful dreadful hopeless staff dirty untidy tables and surely the worst scones in the UK they look and taste like sawdust...in fact they remind one of the Sahara desert - avoid this cafe at all cost , prior to lockdown it was very good serving cooked breakfasts and lunches . The garden centre is excellent good choice of plants and helpful staffMore

Such a fantastic garden centre with great choice in ceramics, pet products, plants etc even aquatics and reptiles for the kids to look at but oh dear the cafe! The person making the coffees defo needs a barrista course - cold and like a 1980’s...coffee out! Scones dry! A great environment to sit it but I would pick what you have carefully. Really needs a shake up!More

We arrived early afternoon to find 50% of the tables covered in dirty dishes - the tables that were not occupied were filthy, the seats covered in grease and food on the floor. When the tables were eventually cleared the dishes were piled high on...a vacant long table but the tables that the dishes were removed from were NOT cleaned. I had to give a one star as that is the minimum in actual fact it deserves minus 10. The management excuse is “No Responsible Person in Charge at Present” Totally Disgraceful as there is no excuse for cleanliness.More

We decided to give the cafe another go as our last experience was non too good, but last time it was being renovated. Three of us had had toasties, and when we bit into them they were stone cold. In fact some of the chicken was still...frozen. We asked them to toast them again as only one side of the sandwich was toasted. We weren't the only ones to return our food, no appology, they just seemed surprised they weren't cooked. We won't be returning to eat there which is sad as the garden centre is very good.More

This is a lovely venue for many reasons but sadly the food is no longer one of them. After refurbishment, the cafe has reopened but the food offering is very limited. They are now using cheap bread, which ruins any sandwich no matter the quality...of the filling. Friends agree and sadly it has dropped way down my list of places to visit for a light lunch. The shopping is better than ever, though.More

Meeting with friends nearby, but significantly early, we called in at this garden centre. It's a nice garden centre, decent range of good quality plants. Sure there are a load of "non - plant items", but that's normal, and interest in old style gardens/gardening has...all but disappeared amongst the general public (any garden centre only offering plants has long since gone bust I'm afraid !). Nice coffee/cakes - good selection on offer. Service a bit slow to be honest.More

The special offer stated coffee and cake £2.95 what it didn’t say was it related to three cakes! At the till our bill was double and when I questioned it I was told by a surly woman that we had picked the wrong cakes!! I...felt like walking off and telling them what to do with the cake! We sat down and due to the building works going on could hardly hear ourselves speak….never againMore

We used to visit often, especially at Christmas for the beautiful decorations and choice of goods on offer. After several years of absence, we decided to visit with our grandchildren to show them the magical displays and have lunch at the lovely cafe. What a...disappointment! The decorations, or lack of imagination in displaying them was so disappointing and the cafe was a confusing, badly run and overpriced experience. Over £20 for two basic toasted sandwiches a coffee and a can of drink! Clearly the new cafe is under construction and the 'do it yourself' system in place currently was unacceptable. Awful, never again!More

Things are different at present and there is no full menu. I ordered one of the sandwiches. The enormous sandwich arrived with salad and chips. It was excellent certainly very filling. there is a good choice of sandwiches and other light lunches. If I have...one complaint it is the slowness of service to order your meal due to social distancing queuing and only one member of staff taking the order and making drinks. Otherwise a great meal.More

So came here for lunch with a friend as not many place doing light meals. I ordered a jacket potato with coronation chicken while my friend ordered a Sandwich. I had just paid when my potato was served to me. Very quick I thought. I...sat down and then my friend quickly told the staff no mayo on her sandwich please to be told it's how it comes. So meanwhile while waiting I tried my potato and it was cold so sent it back and basically had to suggest warming it up in microwave. My friend had then ordered a sausage roll and had to send that back as was pink so she ended up with a cake and a tea. Not quite lunch. My potato had returned and was only slightly warmed. I ate it though but wasn't worth the 6.95 plus the 2.50 coke. Staff don't seem to have a clue and are like dimwitted monkeys.More

I booked afternoon tea for my friend's birthday, we had a lovely afternoon. The sandwiches were very fresh and garnished with a crispy salad. The cakes and cream scones were delicious. We couldn't finish everything and so took some home in takeaway boxes (provided by...the very helpful, attentive staff). We even managed to reserve my favourite spot under the tree!More

We usually come here for lunch - they served really good food with really good fresh seasonal veg. We were surprised to find the menu had changed, - no real cooked food any more and a much reduced choice. I ordered the breakfast and hubby...ordered salmon and cream cheese sandwiches and chips. People next to us had chilli jacket potatoes - they looked good and I nearly changed my mind - I wish I did!. After quiet a long time hubbys sandwiches were brought - minus the chips - for some reason when told this the waiter took them away and bought back later with the chips. My breakfast arrived - well I don't know what to say about that - One slice of bacon and one sausage - tasted good and were freshly cooked - a poached egg that consisted of a egg yolk encased in a very small amount of white that just covered the yolk - you could see the yolk through the miniscule bit of white - don't know where the rest of the white went, mushrooms were ok. That was half of the breakfast - then it all changed the beans in a pot were just luke warm - the hash brown was limp and soggy and looked as though it had been left warm for some time one small taste and it was awfull I can only liken it to soggy cardboard, also the black pudding had a very strange taste, I decided to leave to leave it jut in case. I usually have a good apetite and can eat almost anything but I had to leave beans, hash brown and black pudding. I can honestly say that it was the worst breakfast I have ever had and just a waste of money. The waiter was very good but obviously not much he could do. Its not hard to cook a half decent breakfast - not sure what happened here, we certainly won't be going for lunch again.More
