This is more gastro pub than village local. The decor of the pub creates a very welcoming atmosphere, lots of separate dining areas with candles on the tables and a few sofas for those just wanting a drink or waiting for their table. The food is superb but not cheap. The service attentive and very good. I can highly recommend... More

Excellent fine dining experience on the road between Chard and Axminster. You will need to book to avoid disappointment. I had a delicious Hake with various bits and bobs but particularly enjoyed a dessert of apricots, raspberries, nuts and white chocolate ice cream. Mrs W had cauliflower cooked three ways (as they would say on Masterchef). Though it appeared nowhere... More

My husband and I visited here while staying at a FANTASTIC 'glamping' site 2.2miles away (thats another review). It was a lovely evening so the walk wasnt too bad. I had booked following advice - 6pm on a Thursday and when we arrived most of the tables were reserved so glad I did. Recently refurbished the pub is modern and... More

This Restaurant is on the main road between Chard and Axminster. It has a newly-refurbished car park to welcome us all. A cordial welcome put us at our ease and the staff throughout were both very pleasant, efficient and convivial. Nothing was too much bother so we felt totally relaxed and at home. A party of 4 we had a... More

Nearly drove past The Tytherleigh Arms but stopped attracted by the decor and location of the pub. We went in without a reservation for Sunday lunch and luckily were found an excellent table in the pub side. Would recomend reserving though. Our sunday lunches were excellent, the food was well cooked and presented. The restaurant had a good selection of... More

Definitely a restaurant with rooms rather than a pub, with an emphasis on fine dining. The menu, whilst including a couple of pub-type dishes, was more sophisticated than typical, and the cooking was great quality. The smart, liveried staff were all without fail polite, attentive and very professional. Highly recommended.

this is an up market pub style restaurant - which lives up to its high rating on trip advisor. recommended by our local accommodation providers (if the locals think its good, it must be). service was attentive - menu choices were better than a pub with food - wine list was extensive - but prices were on the high side... I took friends there upon a recommendation and it did not disappoint. The service was good and the prices, for the quality, were reasonable. It is definitely on my favourites list.

We've loved Tytherleigh Arms for a number of years now. We eat there whenever we can find an excuse to go! As I said the last time we went, it gives me a big hug when I walk in. Wonderful atmosphere & environment, great service, amazing food. I'm a new Coeliac eating no gluten & the staff were very helpful... More
