What better than to sit overlooking the ocean and the beach, enjoying a great brunch? We pottered along at 10am on Sunday morning (any morning would do) and sat at at table right overlooking the beach. The staff were friendly, the service was great. Coffee was small but good. Breakfast was excellent value - about 35 euros for 2 of us. We each had 2 coffees, he had a croissant with butter and pumpkin jam; then I had eggs benedict and he had poached eggs on sourdough with smashed avocado. It wasn't haute cuisine; but it was perfectly adequate and such a fabulous location, and all very relaxed and lovely. And very good value for the location, too. We will return!

Sadly Sandbanks has deteriorated in both service, value and quality. We used to visit a few times a week for breakfast - the full breakfast included orange and coffee and was fairly substantial. The service was always friendly and swift.
Over the past few years the breakfast portions have shrunk in size and increased in price, lots of things are now ‘extra’ (coffee, orange, mushrooms etc) so what was a £45 breakfast for 4 not so long ago, is now a €70 breakfast for 4. The service is also noticeably slower and less attentive than in previous years.
As you step outside onto the beach there is also an awful smell of drains. The place needs fixing up and maintaining properly.
Such a shame as the setting is lovely.

In terms of the smell, it comes from a Water Treatment Station nearby, outside our venues, responsibility of Vale do Lobo and Infralobo. We already alert them about it, and they are trying to solve it.

The location of Sandbanks cannot be beaten and as you would expect from the area, it is expensive.
I was really surprised to find that they do not cater for vegans and don't have non-dairy milk.

Arrived at Sandbanks with my dad at 8.45pm (with a booking) and we tried unsuccessfully to order as soon as we sat down. Eventually - we managed to get a waiters attention after 20 minutes of trying. At 10.30pm we still had not been given our main course.
Within this time frame, the staff were painfully slow to even ask if we wanted drinks or to check in to see if we had received our orders.
Eventually had to give up and leave after an hour and 45 minutes of waiting for food - paid the bill and left hungry.
We have traveled all around the world - and by far this is one of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had.

Very much trading on the location, very expensive for what is average food - not special at all. Service friendly but very very slow, even when quiet. Child’s chicken was undercooked resulting in a very poorly child within 4 hours of eating it. We were disappointed

I visited with my family and the service was slow. Worst of all our food was cold. My prawn linguine was cold on arrival and my husbands potato with his fish were solid. The staff didn’t check if the food was ok so when we told them at the time of payment that the food wasn’t satisfactory they didn’t even offer us a discount. We won’t return.

Food: No question about how the cooking of the burger would be appreciated. Result: well done😔and without taste. The bun was perhaps baked a week ago. The chicken was dry and the french fries to the soft side. Tomatoes and onions were fresh. Coffee OK. Wine and beer selection OK but expensive e.g Sangria 30 euro!
The staff was doing the service without being really interested and the prices are too high compared with other restaurants where you get fresh and tasty food at a much more reasonable price. We will not come back🙁.

Good food; good location and good service
After a long day of golf, wanted an early quick feed and Sandbanks delivered. Located right in the beach in a hub of Places targeting the British annual invasion, it provided a beautiful sunset gratis. We had tuna tataki, a poke bowl, salmon fish cakes and ceviche. All very tasty and felt light and healthy. Only annoyance was being charged double ( 6+ euro) for the bread and dip when the menu implied it it was half that.. we came very early 18:20 which didn’t bother the cheerful crew at all. Parking in the street was easy too.

We ate breakfast and dinner her during our holiday. For breakfast we both ordered eggs benedict but the eggs were overdone. When we ate dinner we couldn’t fault the food, service was ok could have been a little more attentive

The service in this restaurant was terrible!!
Each waiter seemed to have a particular job. So there was one person out of 10 who was “allowed” to take orders. The other 9 were wondering around moving forks 1cm to the left and clearing up (when they actually got orders to people).
It took us ages to get the attention of any waiter. Then they told us to wait for the particular man taking orders. It took a good 20/30 minutes before we got our drinks and a further 20 minutes for food.
We heard plenty of other tables moaning as well due to the shocking service.
We would’ve spent twice as much if they would’ve got drinks to us quicker. We would’ve ordered two or three drinks each, coffees and juices etc.
The food is actually nice which is the only reason we didn’t walk out!! But we won’t be returning.

My boyfriend, my parents and I went for a lunch for my birthday. It was absolutely beautiful. We had a lovely view of the sea, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming, the food came out quickly and was perfect! We had panko prawns, a burger and the prawn linguine. Couldn't fault it at all - even the presentation was lovely. For drinks we had passion fruit mojitos and they were devine! We checked the menu at three restaurants next to each other - they are all relatively similar - I can assure you though that this is worth the cost. Great value for money on portion size and taste! Very happy!!! Thank you :)

Vegan - avoid the risotto. Bland dry stodgy rice. This should not be on the menu. They did take it off the bill, but the diner was left hungry.
The chicken dish was dry and the tuna overcooked, even though asked how I wanted it cooked.

We came here for breakfast and there was a good choice. We all ordered the poached eggs with avocado which was lovely. The fresh orange was freshly squeezed and so tasty along with coffees and English breakfast tea. The staff were so friendly and the sea view was stunning

Usually from me you get 5 stars all staff were pleasant but we walked in they had about 15 people wasn’t busy wanted a table for 2 near the window .. we weren’t allowed to sit at the 4s ( which were only 2 tables of 2 that they could of moved) and we were not allowed to move one chair on the 2’s so we could sit opposite.. each other I honestly would really understand if they were busy they had no reservations plus another couple were sat at a 4 . We decided to eat and go !
Food was nice , we were going to book for my family of 11 that are coming out at weekend and decided against it .. we normally have a laugh with the staff but it’s lost its personal touch .. really sorry as we must of been to the restaurant over many many times both inside and out . Plus I do appreciate Covid restrictions but not many people were in the restaurant

We had two wonderful meals here. we stopped for lunch and the service and food was so good we booked to have dinner. We opted for the Cataplana, which was served with great ceremony and looked and tasted delicious. The seafood was so very fresh. And the view is breathtaking. Would urge anybody visiting Vale do Lobo to make a trip here.
