The best fish restaurant in Israel. Not only were the dishes excellent and succulent, but the service from the staff was worthy of a high-class European restaurant. The only downside was that the toilets lacked paper. I would go back without hesitation even though I live in Jerusalem which is an hour away.

We arrived from Tel Aviv a few minutes early for our reservation but we were seated immediately. The atmosphere was pleasant and the tables spaced comfortably apart. The background music was pleasant and the bathroom clean. Our server was very nice. It was good that my wife spoke Hebrew fluently since the menus were in Hebrew and the server spoke Hebrew (Duh!! I live in Israel where they speak Hebrew). We chose a business lunch where we shared a main dish and added one appetizer. The food was tasty and service was exceptional. Our main dish was a 550 gram red fish on a bed of potatoes. I would return to this restaurant again.

Somewhat off the beaten path, but well worth the detour, this is by far the best fish restaurant in which we have ever dined. Its success is underscored by the 2-3 week for a table at dinner time, although you can take your chances for an afternoon spot. The food was sensational, creative and full of flavor for each course, enhanced by knowledgeable and helpful service. This restaurant is worth a special trip from anywhere in the country.

A significant gap between the image and the execution. The fish dishes are reasonable in taste, not too much, small! and sky high prices.
The toppings for the dishes are too small and any request for a topping is bound to fail, which is also extremely excessive (28 NIS for a really small portion of rice).
In short - disappointment. We will not return.

We visited Pescado restaurant last weekend.
In terms of service, he is kind and good, and I really wish every self-respecting restaurant had such waiter service.
In terms of food, we ordered 2 starters and at the waiter's recommendation we only ordered starters.
The portions were unsatisfyingly small and unfortunately not tasty either. A challah that came with red pepper oozing out of it with a few pieces of fish on top that really wasn't that different from a challah fish at a Friday dinner. It is important to note that the dish is one piece of challah with a total of fish on it.
We ordered another dish of lettuce with raw fish and it wasn't too much either and I really wouldn't consider it a first but an appetizer.
After that, we were not so satisfied and satiated in general, we ordered 2 more dishes that we simply did not touch. They were bitter and salty in a way that made it impossible to enjoy the dish. One is a salad with raw fish (the crepes ruined everything)
And a second course of fish with tahini and mushrooms which was bitter and the tahini was too raw.
It is important to note that we were charged for 2 bottles of plain water at a price of NIS 52! Just ridiculous and the waitress didn't offer a pitcher so we ordered mineral water.

After a lot of recommendations, I had to try this place out, and I ended up disappointed.
Nothing we ordered was "bad," but only one dish was good (and nothing more), while the rest were mostly mediocre - and all of them were small.
The sashimi we ordered was so salty that even a single bite was too much to handle, and it was immediately replaced. I believe this was a mistake, as the new sashimi was well-seasoned, but even then, it was just OK.
In a green salad with fried fish from the special menu, the fish was no longer crispy after swimming in the juices from the salad, and the fish itself was quite dry inside. The cucumber was carelessly cut into large chunks or thin slices. Considering how the first sashimi came out, I don't think anyone looked at the plates before they left the kitchen.
There were two dishes that could be considered good, but nothing worth writing about.
I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant. I hope my experience was the exception.
From a place that is considered one of the best fish restaurants in Israel, I expected better food, with higher quality and consistency.

This restaurant achieved the 24th position in the recent Best 50 ranking of San Pelegrino, and naturally, it took us some time to get a reservation. Situated in the midst of various shops in a small shopping center, it definitely didn't get its place in the ranking due to its appearance. A pretty small place with an inside and
covered outside dining rooms, with simple tables with no table cloths or placemats. It is by definition a kosher fish restaurant so no seafood on the menu. If we expected something special due to its listing in the best 50 ranking we didn't get it. The dishes were ok, but not beyond. We were a party of four and had the business menu of fish ceviche, "hot sashimi" with additional charge, and ikra ( fish eggs paste) for starters. The main dishes comprised of sea-bass fillets, lightly seared which were well prepared and tasty. A small glass of beer was part of the deal. Service throughout by Shirra was friendly and attentive. The total bill without tip came to over INS 670. Not cheap and certainly doesn't justify the long drive we had in order to get there. My advice- if you are in Ashdod you can try it, but there are other places with better value for money.

We (2 couples ) had a business lunch.
Lunch includes first, main and drinks, dessert is not included in the price.
All dishes were very tasty and nice size. Service was very nice. There is a large parking across the street.
Very recommend.

Everybody was talking about this super resraurant Pescado so i decided to go with friends.First of all the decor is very basic nothing special,i was suprised because its considered like a expensive resraurant.
Entrees are very smal portion and on 4 first dish i liked only the sashimi tuna.
The main course average price 130 sh,i was expecting a good portion of fish and i received 3 little pieces with tomatoes cherry and onions.
For dessert i ordered the chocolat stuff it was not tasty at all.The only thing i enjoy was the wine.
So we spent 500 sh for 2 people,i didn t enjoy my meal at all.Overprice place.

big disappointment. Do not accept the recommendations of the waiters! We shared a fish, seemingly large and very expensive (over NIS 500), which should be enough for a number of people, each diner received/ate one not-large piece/slice (which incidentally has small bones), the toppings, a very small number of potato slices Minutes and banalities and a delicious but tiny rice dish considering the number of diners.
An extra portion of rice/topping- for a fee.. With all due respect, it's rice in total. This is insolence of the first order and forgive me, also stupidity.
The first courses are also a big disappointment.
In short - "fall". Of course we will not repeat the mistake.
We paid about NIS 300 per diner which is crazy compared to the value.
By the way, none of the diners suffers from a financial problem and they all have a lot of experience, from restaurants in Israel and abroad.

Food is good but far from amazing. First course dishes were the best. Main ones were ok, nothing special there. Side dishes and salads were horrible, soaked with oil. Really non edible.
Atmosphere is mediocre. Not what you might expect.
Service was the worst part.

we reserved a table today to this restaurant.we came all the way from tel aviv to ashdod.
when we arrived, exact in time ,the girl who seemed to be the shift manager told us that they dont accept new tabels!
all the atmosphere there was very bad: not well airconditioned, smell of smoke, tabels looked unclean. shift manager talked very rude.
we were very disapointed and went out to look for another restaurant.
aladin- we will never come back.

I would like to congratulate the staff for their availability. We only spoke French, despite everything we were perfectly advised for the starters and main course. Spectacular 1,200kg fried sea bass for three. We had the choice of cooking, top notch, succulent starters! Looking forward to going back!

I saw great reviews and wanted to take my fish loving husband out for his birthday. I only like fresh tuna and carefully reviewed the menu beforehand to see what would interest me.
For a starter we ordered tuna sashimi. Out came a bowl of chickpeas with 6 (I counted) flakes of fresh tuna. Delicious but tuna was certainly not actually represented in the dish. Hubby had a delicious white fish grilled on a skewer. For a main I ordered tuna on a roll (from the starters menu). The roll was burnt black and the sliced fresh tuna was cooked completely through. I am an experienced cook and know that tuna should always be served pink to red in the middle. Hubby enjoyed his fish confit.
There is no pasta, nothing on the menu but fish except for 1 steak offering. In desperation I decided to order that. It cost 45 shekel for 100 grams, but the minimum weight was 550 grams. I refuse to pay 250 shekel for steak. I couldn't even relax with a glass of wine bcz they were charging 60 shekel per tiny amount in a cup of wine.
Dessert was an unripe pineapple with delicious coconut sorbet.
I am aware that this is a fish restaurant but felt there should be reasonably priced options for non fish eaters.
All in all overpriced and not worth the trip. Even from down the block.
