Great brunch. They used to have a huge buffet with a million things on it but since covid they had to change it to a seated one. Now You have a few different themes for the brunch ( Nordic , Middle East, sweet, ... )....I went for the Middle East one with shakshuka, roasted cauliflower, tstatizki, grilled eggplant, taboulé, ... ) and it was very good and filling.
Comes with juice or bubbles ( a big glass so I was very happy ;) )
As a dessert I took the sugar crêpes and it was a perfect way to end the brunch.More
This place is located in a lovely district not far from the city center. It looks attractive and has an interesting interior, but the big hall is very loud, and the toilets did not seem to be cleaned too often... They offer classic Belgian and...French food. I can't say that the staff is unfriendly, they are rather too busy, you have to constantly make them pay attention to you, but we were not waiting for food too long although the place was very full.More
Very slow serving and non communicative.
The food is average but severing. I sat for 20 minutes before ordering, tried in vain to get my beer with the food, but could only get it when I was done, with a shrug as an excuse ....
We went there for dinner, three of us. Ordered esgargots among other things. Asked the waitress how many escargots were there (because it wasn't stated on the menu) and the waitress said 5 (which sounded a bit weird as they're usually in the order of...half or a dozen but whatever). When we got the plate, there were 7 escargot (!) and 6 of them -- no kidding -- were empty, just the sauce!! We called another waitress to tell her about the situation, she didn't apologise whatsoever, she said that anyway there were already 7 escargots while there should be 6 (as if, we couldn't complain since we got one extra?!) and then just asked us if we wanted to cancel the order or try a second time. We said that we would try another time provided that the escargots were actually there, and she said she couldn't say but there should be as the kitchen usually checks (which clearly they didn't do the first time around). She said she didn't know what to say, to which I suggested that it would have been nice of her to just say "sorry for the inconvenience" and bring another plate. And she did. Second time, again, 7 escargots (!) and this time they were all there, we were lucky xD Just wondering, chefs of the L'Ultime Atome, how could you cook empty escargots, did you just use by mistake the leftover shells of some escargots you served before us?! Because that would be horrible in terms of hygiene, I really hope you can explain how that happened!! Funny thing is that we also noticed that right after we complained a woman from another table went and asked the waitress something about her burger. Apparently something was wrong for her as well as the waitress, after inspecting the bread bun, kept the plate and returned it to the kitchen. We wondered what was missing there...?! Anyway, as if this was not enough, we decided to order dessert, a Gauffre de Liège that was listed on the blackboard. And in the end we received a Gauffre de Bruxelles! I was sure by then that wasn't the right one, but didn't say anything as thought there was a tiny chance I might be wrong. Back home I checked and, yeah, that was definitely not a Gauffre de Liège. I mean, why writing it was a Liège-type when it wasn't... besides you're in Brussels, no one would be surprised if you serve gauffres from there -- just a suggestion for the future hehe. You're not a serious restaurant, sorry to say. And it wasn't even too busy so you can't even blame it on the staff being overloaded.More
Came here with a friend for a Friday lunch. We both opted for salads - mine was the goat’s cheese. The bill including wine & coffees came to 49 EUR.
We’ve been here before as the food is quite ok, and a safe card, ambiance...nice (we were lucky to get one of the small tables outside by the pavement) and in a nice area just close to the shopping street.More
