A small place with an unusual menu: not for anyone looking for lasagna and pizza! Intriguing menu and well-prepared, well-presented food. Would be a solid 4 stars but for a mix-up with our order.
Miranda never fails to disappoint (if you are looking for gourmet Italian with a twist - as you would find in Italy). Everything from the Chocolate melanzana starter, to the Porc filet or homemade spaghettini, to the ricotta tart, is perfection. The wine list is...also excellent - probably the best selection from Jermann in the city. All at reasonable prices. Please note if you are looking for Spagetti Carbonara (with cream) and other ‘Italian’ standards then perhaps stay away!More
The food here is extremely good, authentic and there is an attention to detail that is much welcome in a city where very often they are checking their watch to send you out and have the second shift come in. Prices may be a bit...high for Italian standards, but it is still worth it.More
To say that the food was underwhelming would be a compliment . I agree that food needs to innovate and I have seen brilliant innovation of for example Spanish food in Spain and of Italian food in Italy , simple yet more complexly tasting adaptions...of what can be called their traditional basis . This restaurant and the food in this restaurant is far from innovative - it is just a bland and quasi modern imitation of Italian food . It is just bizarre .The service is friendly enough but unable to cope with a full restaurant. Antipasti was served before we had finished our aperitivi and before we had been asked about our wine choice . We were asked to order quickly because there was a big table of 8 near us .The kitchen which is tiny obviously cannot cope with a high number of concurrent orders. The wine, which was very nice, arrived about near the end of the antipasti and a long time before our actual dishes arrived which meant it was nearly finished by the time the dishes arrived . As for the food itself ..... 2 dishes we had were nice, but not in any way special .The other 4 were so busy trying to be different, they totally forgot about being tasty never mind being delicious . They also seemed to have forgotten the need to be warm as they were served tepid. Very poor experience taste wise . You should only go to this restaurant if you either don’t really care for Italian food or if you know nothing about Italian food. While underwhelming is too kind a description about the food , overwhelming disappointment is a very accurate description of the experience.More
Looking for true Italian food with a slight twist, look no further. Exquisite porc filet. Prices are acceptable and in the trendy neighbourhood of ixelles
You probably won't get decent Italian food in the centre of Brussels. So you will need to venture out to Ixelles, which is only 20 minutes on the tram from Midi station or 15 minutes on the bus (+ 10 minute walk) from the Parliament....Very limited menu with a number of daily specials. Not your typical italian restaurant. The dishes are imaginative and the pasta are often unusual ones, not found in most restaurants. You are likely to hear more italian spoken than French, which isn't a surprise since the chef (and his sister) and the staff are mainly Italian. Decent selection of wines including a few by the glass.More
I have been at Miranda twice. The second time I was positively surprised by the choice of fantastic raw ingredients cooked in a superlative way by a young chef. The finished plate, being home made pasta and pork, were sublime. Chapeau!
Today was our seventh or eigth visit to Miranda. We don’t ordinarily leave reviews of restaurants, but we saw the review of Nicholas B., and feel that his review was so unfair that we need to correct the record. Miranda is not the kind pf...restaurant you go to if you want traditional Italian food. What you get is incredibly creative cooking by a couple of Italians who use traditional Italian metods with traditional (and occasionally nontradional) ingredients to make famtastic food that is worth going back for again and again. The food is not cheap, but given the quality and the ingredients, is very fairlly priced. The wine list, too, has excellent wines from Basilicata and other regions, which are better priced than most restaurants in Brussels. And when you splurge and go for an expensive bottle, it will be properly aged - something you almost never find in Brussels. On top of that, the owners - a delightful sister and brother - are extraordinarily attentive and accommodating, not tot mention just downright nice people.More
50 Euros per person for below average, nonsensically revisited Italian food and a not-so-friendly service. I don't think there's more to add. In Italy, this restaurant wouldn't last a week. In Brussels it's thriving. This city's celebration of mediocrity in food is impossible to understand.
Excellent food, including various glutenfree options and great staff. Delicious and very recommended
Went for dinner. Very welcoming and noce little restaurant. Limited menu with authentic Italian dishes, from their home region La Basilicata. Loved the dried peppers as amuse. They are very proud of their region and i love the fact that they put some of the...traditional dishes on their menu. Delicious home made fresh pasta, wonderful spicy salciccia ragu.More
One of the best Italian restaurants in Brussels. Service was good, food menu was limited, but this ensured less waste and fresh food. I had the pork which was actually Hungarian pork, some of the most tender pork in the world, it was in a...crunchy crust served with warm, vinegary courgettes and a pumpkin or carrot puree. OMG. Juicy, succulent and oh so good. The family is from Basilicata, right in the inside sole of Southern Italy and it makes me want to go there. My friend had a plate of pasta (can't remember which one) but it was also amazing. You won't be disappointed. YUMMMMM. Prices are fair, 18-24 for a main course which was enough. They service delicious bread too. :) Wines were good and also fairly priced.More

A very nice restaurant that serves tasty dishes with bold flavours. One of my favourite Italian restaurants in Brussels.
