This truly could be a lovely old pub as it is in a lovely setting and is a prime example of the lovely English pub that is dying so quickly nowadays. But the service is only average whereas the prices are indeed quite high ....More

I went to the Fox after a recommendation from a friend. It was for an evening meal and the food was fantastic. We decided to go back for a special birthday meal for Sunday lunch and was slightly disappointed with the offering. We had the...More

Snug is the word for this wonderful eatery. Wide choice of dishes and specials and wines and desserts. Service is brilliant. Prices are equitable. Owner Rob also has interesting conversation - will revisit a million times if my feet and teddy bear will allow!

Visited here with three friends having booked quite a few weeks in advance. We had a selection of starters which varied from prawns to duck cakes and soufflé - all wonderful. With the perfect time left before mains served, again, faultless dishes with perfect presentation....More

Hi Sean, Looking at all your other reviews, you really don't enjoy eating out. My advise is probably stay home as no one seems to please you. Our customers normally comment on how generous our portions are and what good value our food is.

I recommend The Fox unreservedly. The proprietor is very 'hands on' and makes sure everything runs smoothly. Their cheese soufflé is famous and I have it every time I go. The confit of pork I had this time was to die for. The food is...More

Yes we do use rapeseed but we also use olive oil and butter. The only place we use the rapeseed oil is in our fryer. If your sister makes the chefs aware they can use another oil.
