I revisited the Vaynol in a family group this week. The Vaynol serves pub food, popular in the evenings. The food is ok but on the expensive side and not many dishes are home made but bought in from suppliers. My daughter found a large house fly in her coffee and removed it from the cup with horror. The waitress asked... More

Thank you for your comments, firstly most of our dishes are homemade only a few are " bought in" due to the size of the kitchen. Also as for our pricing we feel we are very reasonable priced for the high standard of food and service we give. There is also plenty of competition around as most customers have to... More

We were staying overnight in Bangor and wanted dinner plus refreshments in a local place. This is a good old fashioned pub serving good food and drinks. Lots of beams and woodwork, as well as brass and other decorations. Bottles of wine were reasonable, starting at £13.95. We enjoyed our dinner, which was well priced and tasty. The staff were... Thank you for you comments, as we are in a rural farming area at this time of year our battle with the dust in ever present and the brasses are done every Monday. We would love to do them daily but unfortunately it's near impossible. More

We were on holiday and decided not to cook. This pub had been recommended by a local and we thought we'd give it a try. The starter we had was a seafood platter to share and had a good variety of seafood. Very tasty. There was a reasonable choice of mains and I chose the slow cooked belly pork. Again... More

Party of six and most were satisfied. But the quality of the food and portions did not reflect the prices they charged. The steak and ale pie was mainly bereft of steak. The pie was tasty enough. I pointed out to the waitress who said she Would inform the chef. The owner came and apologised saying the pie was normally... More

Food was excellent, plenty of it really tasty and hot. Couldn't fault, excellent location if your stopping at the Plas Tirion B&B just over the road. Would recommend highly.

Called in here for a Sunday lunch with friends, nice down to earth Country pub in a lovely part of North Wales. The staff were very friendly, the beer good and the food very traditional and tasty. They know who there customers are and although it's not award winning stuff,it is very good down to earth tasty food. Nearest thing... More
