My wife and I recently visited the Stirling Lodge for dinner with three couples visiting us at our cottage. We had originally planned to take them to the Opinicon, however they are still undergoing renovations and could not accommodate us😢. We also tried for reservations at the Stagecoach in Newboro, but they aren't open on Tuesday nights. So the Sterling... More

The restaurant at this fishing lodge was an echo of a bygone era. The menu was small and the food very traditional. That being said we both had walleye which was very good and we finished off our meal with a slice of moist chocolate cake which was excellent. The wait staff were very pleasant.

Four of us when celebrating Canada Day (1st July) decided to dine out for the evening. We were welcomed very well and as we had a reservation and had a good table. All indications for a good evening and meal. We placed our orders and two had the fish special, one, who had notified the restaurant a week ahead, requested... More

This casual pub has tons of atmosphere, great food, cold beer. Family business and the pride they have in the business shows.

Great food choices and a lovely dining experience which surprised our party of four. Enjoyed a leisurely meal at this remote location.

Visited with a group for an anniversary dinner and was disappointed by the food. Several people had the table d'hote ($27.00)which included turkey, catfish or "mediterranean"stir fry as the entree. The med stir fry was not available and instead they had a "sweet and sour" stir fry with shrimps. The beef and potato soup was good, as was the caesar... More

Great place to meet locals and share in some sport bar tv viewing. Stieling is the only hotel with a sports bar on the Rideau. Watched the US Open Golf and the Womens Fifa Match at the same time while explaining to some locals why we were here in there neighbourhood all the way from the West Coast where both... More

I've traveled the world for 35 years as I'm a pilot for American Airlines. Have been in the finest as well as the worst restaurants . I've never been treated like I was at this establishment. We were a group of 25 that booked a private room for dining . After a long day of boating we found ourselves at... More

We heard about the Stirling Lodge from someone in Westport. We do not regret taking their advice. The food was amazing in presentation and taste. It's a quaint place that I would like to go back to in the summer and possibly stay for a weekend. It's old and they owners have kept the old flair...lots of atmosphere. If you... More
