We had wine tasting here. It was very good! Bridgit speaks fantastic English and entertained us with stories about winery and wine. We tasted seven wines and two sparkling wines and they were excellent. We also had homemade sourdough bread, sausage and cheese. We had...lovely time there, Bridgit also recommended some restaurants and viewpoint nearby. Really recommend this place!More

Sandor warmly greeted us in person after making a same day reservation over the phone. His passion and love of making enthralling wine was impressively complimented by his ability to speak Polish and Bulgarian and got along quite well with my Croatian/Bosnian speaking SO. We...visited right after Oremus which exports around the world and Szedmák is NO LESS impressive (which makes sense as he’s been cultivating his knowledge and craft vintage by vintage for over 40 years. Still can’t decide what we liked more, but the Szamorodnis and Forditás left a tremendous impression. This is local pride and an exception representation of Hungarian work ethic. Le a kalappal! “Off with the hat!/Chapeau!”More

We had a wonderful time at the winery. You can't pick a wrong bottle here, the wines are amazing! Sandor and Brigitta made us feel very welcome, introduced us to their expertise and answered any and all of our questions. If you get the chance...visit the vineyards with them - spectacular view!More

My husband and I attended the Sunset vineyard tour at Szedmak, a family-run estate. The winemaker Szedmak Sandor and his wife Brigitta welcomed us warmly, and with a big smile. They made sure we are well taken care of during the visit. The sunset view...was spectacular, especially looking at it through glasses of Szedmak’s lovely wine selection. I enjoyed their sarga muskotaly and sweet wine selection, whilst my husband loved their mineral taste dry furmint. We look forward to visiting them during harvest season.More

It was my first time to visit wine cellar or wine house. Owners are very kind and they offer wide range of wines to taste and they have great knowledge about wines. Prices are comparable to the wines in markets, but they are so much...better in the taste.More

This is a wonderful little wine house run by a wonderful couple who really understand hospitality and wine. They are literally inviting you into their house and one couldn't feel more welcome as the delightful host shares glasses of wine with you and tells you...the story of their vineyard. We were a mixed group of German, English and Filipino and the host seemed as interested in us as we were in her wine! The wine is fantastic and definitely worth taking home. For me, the one hour at this house was the best part of my entire 2 week holiday. Thank you for your welcome and love your dog too!More

Hungarian hospitality and wine at its best. Rural charm, a warm welcome, exquisite wines and extremely good value for money. Brigi- Sandor's wife made us feel like a part of a family, she went out of her way to make our experience personal, welcoming us...into the family trip through the vineyard. The wine is exemplary and the atmosphere of the place is to die for. Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Szedmak, unforgettable experience!!!!More

Our wine tasting was run by the owners of the small winery and was tailored to our tastes. Unlike a tasting run by a larger vineyard, they designed the tasting to our preferences. We learned a lot about the Tokaj region and bought some to...take back with us. Highly recommended to both amateurs and experts!More

Highly recommended place when you're in Tokaj. Fantastic wines, hospitality at higher level, owners open to answer any question regarding wine. We spent there more than 2 hours not even noticing time flying. Brought 2 boxes of wine but the choice was not easy. Really...must see.More

Although we did just accidentally come here for a wine tasting, we had a wonderful time certainly one of our highlights. We ended up buying some bottles from here which shows you how much we enjoyed the wine. We were just walking around the area...and decided to stop at another hotel to ask for recommendations of what to do. We told them what we had done and they very very kindly helped us call and arrange to go here for a wine tasting. It was only a short walk from the hotel we stopped at so we were surrounded by wine in less than 15 min. We tasted a selection of 10 wines from this family sized vineyard and the prices are really good. Back here in England we would not be able to do anything like this for the price we paid at Tokaj so go go go!!! The host was absolutely amazing and great English!! She was always happy to tell us more and talk us through everything. We were so glad we got to try their wines and would recommend anyone visiting to go try their wine.More

There was a time, when I visit Tokaj / Tarcal and I didn't know that Szedmak Pince exists. Now I can't imagine visiting Tokaj without tasting Sandor's vine. Owner is speaking Hungarian, English and polish, which is a huge advantage. Over last 4 visits we...have been shown vine making process from the very beginning (as grapes maturate on bushes), through harvest time (we have personally picked up grapes and squeezed fresh juice) and finally tasting time :). Vines are delicious, everyone will find something for himself / herself - different grape variates, dry, semi dry, semi sweet and sweet vines.More

After visiting Tokaj we were looking for some wineries in Tarcal. We couldn´t find any open cellar and we knoked on Szedmak winery, by chance. Shortly - we spent there long time with very good wines - especially sweet ones were excelent. Sárga muskotaly (yellow...muscat), Zengö and Furmint had very good taste.More
