I had already been to this tiny place in Montefiridolfi, close to San Casciano nella val di Pesa, a couple of years ago, for lunch. I was very positively impressed by the friendly atmosphere (like eating with the family), the tiny but cozy place, with...very few tables, simple and warm furnishings. The manager is a courteous person, without appearing intrusive or pedantic. The cuisine with traditional dishes, and some creative excursions, for example with a spicy first course and garlic…. In August this year I went there for dinner, and we found some tables set up in the adjacent square. Here too the same taste, the same sincere courtesy, the same cuisine with a menu that is not very long but all of excellent workmanship that to define only home-made is almost an understatement. The very generous appetizer is excellent, the first courses are wonderful, the meat is cooked to perfection, and all the side dishes are delicious. Personally I would have liked more choices of vegetables, but the desserts have calmed me down. Coffee in moka, which I really like. The choice of wines could be enriched with a few bottles from other regions, especially for the combination with certain first courses.More
For the 2nd time I have tried to order from A Casa Mia only to be cold that they are unable to deliver to me “because you didn’t have a driver” despite being on Just East as a delivery option. My order was for over...£50, what you couldn’t put this in a taxi and deliver it to me on my birthday. I will NEVER try your restaurant again. Shameful service. Thanks for nothing and goodbye.More
If you want the sound of Touscany and the flavor of typical food, it the right place. Good food but nothing of special.
Hidden treasure😋 We booked the restaurant by cooncidence, was closest to our stay. After reading TA reviews have some expectations, but were well overachieved. Ordered fantastic antipasti plate, then superb pasta, even get small portion of the really hot pasta we want to just try...was not a problem for Maurizio. Finishing with sliced steak was like desert! Worth to visit!More
Cousy, best antipasto and excellent spaghetti carbonara! A little out of street, but worth it, the chef and staff are sure Italians in all you can ad to that!
A Casa Mia is a small local restaurant tucked away in a quaint little village. We ordered the three pastas and the caprese salad. Every dish was outstanding - the rabbit ragu was a highlight. This is a must order dish!!! We all pride ourselves...on knowing good Italian food. This has to be one of, if not the best pasta we’ve had in Italy. Another notable touch was the bottle of Chianti waiting for you at the table. We finished our meal with coffee and dessert which were also great! The service at this restaurant is also good - the waiter was warm and inviting! I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant only has six tables, and is usually full of locals.More
This is certainly the local's best kept secret! With only 26 seats it's a small restaurant and must normally cater to the residents of Montefiridolfi but they welcomed us in for a lunchtime feast. We started with antipasti for the table and were pleasantly surprised...to see such a wide selection land on our table. Everything was fresh and delicious. We followed up with primi pasta - I opted for Rabbit ragu penne - which was also well flavoured and plentiful. We would have had dessert but we're too full to muster another bite. We would recommend this place as an authentic Italian restaurant, focusing on local, fresh ingredients cooked simply but very well.More
Simple home made food with great service. Antipasti was great, so were the mains and the wine. Recommended.
The host was very nice and funny, the food is amazing! So good, the place is small and the vibe is good, very recommend I recommend to order place before
Hands down the BEST pasta I’ve ever eaten. Simple but quality ingredients. The food coupled with the atmosphere made for a perfect lunch. A Casa Mia truly feels and smells like home. It’s located in small town called Montefiridolfi. If you are driving through or...staying in the Chianti/Florence region, do yourself a favor, go.More
My husband and I visited with our extended family (a dozen people); several of us had visited before, years ago. Food is excellent, customer service is friendly and welcoming. There are not many tables, so be sure to make reservations! Casual, homey atmosphere. Be warned...that dinner may take a while during very busy periods. It took three hours from arrival to when our first courses were served (after appetizers), and they accidentally forgot my order — by the time it arrived, the rest of the family had finished eating. BUT the food is worth the wait!More
Kinda hard to find as both it and the township is so little, however the food is HUGE both in terms of taste and serving size. Because it is so little there is only a small regularly changing menu which uses local in season produce....The anti pasto plate is incredible and everyone should have it. There is a bottle of Chianti on your table when you arrive which is really very good . Don't go here looking for a long wine list and fine dining, but do go here if you want a real taste of Italy with genuine food and local wine. We would definitely return even if it is a bit out of the way.More
My wife and I were just there...OMG, a true gem...fantastic food at a fantastic price... a true Tuscan meal...catered to our every request...
We visited this small restaurant the last evening of our holiday. We tried to make reservations several evenings before but with no luck. It was a real nice experience! It has only six tables, with cute different seats and tables the plates were all different,...the house wine is already on the table. Real Italian ambiance really nice. This house wine was okay but not special - which is too bad as you are in the middle of wine heaven. The food was good, we had several anti pasti and then pici and risotto also a caprese salad. We enjoyed that the pici was served in a large pan on the table. Dolci! Of course. No menu there for the dolci but a large plate with different fruit cakes pastries really really good, we enjoyed sharing! A must go when you’re in the area. Remember to bring cash as paying by card is possible (we saw) but not appreciated. They say not possible although we saw it is.. nevertheless really must go for the food and the ambiance! We just love this restaurant!More
