Met with a very warm and friendly welsh welcome. Had a couple of drinks (the welsh local bitter is to die for). Not rushed to choose from the menu then led to our dining table where the food served was amazing. I would recommend the pork chops or the gammon as I had the rest of the gammon that my... More

Popped into here on a drive around looking for somewhere to eat. Though been here before this was the first time with its new owners. We were made welcome and a table found straight away for us. Our meals were delivered to the table steaming hot and plentiful and tasty. Very good value for money and we will be definitely... More

Had been there for a meal out with friends and had a great time and good food so thought we would try Sunday lunch. Wasn't disappointed, we had a lovely meal, several different meats available, great vegetable and homemade roasties too. Would definitely recommend it and excellent value too.

We spent a couple of hours in the Butchers Arms eating and drinking. My partner and I had a curry which was mediocre. The bar staff seemed pleasant enough until the landlord arrived just as we were leaving. He seemed a little put out that we were going to the other village pub, The Red Cow (which is a great... We were heading to the Red Cow on New Years eve, but found that full for a special event. The Butcher's Arms was nearby, and we were initially put off because it's a bunkhouse, but decided to give it a try. They were obviously busy, so we found a table and a few menus and seated ourselves. The service was... More

We arrived about 15 minutes before official opening time and were welcomed warmly We asked if food was available and we directed to a table. A very pleasant lady took our order and our food and drinks arrived quite quickly. I only had pie and chips, but I can confidently state that it was the best pie I have ever... More

Received a recommendation & drove 10 mins to this lovely village pub. Mainly full with locals but the pub is a bunkhouse, so a few mountain bikers in the restaurant. Very friendly staff & typical Welsh way of life. We ordered lamb shank & gammon & chips. The food is really great & fantastic value for money. We will most... More

We are NOT mountain bikers like several other reviewers and only stopped off for dinner and found it more than acceptable although the wine list was limited (and expensive for what it was). It had a good range of food to cater for all tastes and the staff were friendly enough. But all in all - an average meal

Had a great weekend stay in June with a group of 17 of us touring some MTB centres. The bunkhouse was bang on with beds being the comfiest that we had experienced in several annual trips. Food was large portions and dead on quality and price wise. Suited us down to the ground with a mixed group of bods.

I was directed here by the lovely staff at the B and B . Upon arrival the staff appeared to take the attitude that serving me was too much effort and an unreasonable request . I didn't expect a Royal Welcome but a common courtesy of acknowlagement of a customers presence is surely a must ? The food was mediocre... More
