Entering through the foyer of the distinctly lack lustre hotel, the ambiance enhanced by the buckets collecting the water coming through the ceiling, we were shown to the dining room which was half in darkness. Seated at a table too small for us to eat off sitting opposite each other (really) we were a little apprehensive about the food, but... More

We visited on Wednesday evening as my daughter had had her last exam, and had a very pleasant surprise at the service and food we received. The waitress we had was very polite and lovely, and the food was all up to a very good standard. Very impressed, will return.

I ordered two fish dishes which looked ok but the taste was not good as the seafood was tasteless and I believe - not fresh! Shock horror. My stomach did not feel good the next day even though I am used to eating spicy food in Thai restaurants both in London and Thailand.

Another fantastic takeaway. We've never had anything less than excellent food from here. Highly recommend to anyone local or people passing through.

Was in Colwyn Bay for a wedding and visited the Tamarind. Food was excellent and service was second to none. Quite possibly the best Thai restaurant I have visited.

Super friendly staff. Large choice of meals, beautifully cooked, served piping hot and full of taste. We went here on a Thursday for a wedding anniversary treat and were really glad that we did. The restaurant was exceptionally quiet which was surprising as the quality of the food and the service was superb. We will definitely be going there again!!

The best place in North Wales for Thai food. Family business with very friendly staff. Booking is essential.

We only ate here originally as it was the only local restaurant still serving food late at night. Located in a hotel, we didn't expect much when we walked in. Staff were friendly and accommodating without being pushy, food was not expensive, very tasty, and arrived promptly. The range of draft beer was limited. Staff immediately remembered us on our... One of Toptables favourite hidden gems, Colwyn Bay offers a surprise in the shape of The Tamarind Thai Restaurant. Reliably fantastic food and always excellent service have ensured that The Tamarind is a local favourite and always, always busy. The cosy dining room, complete with Oriental wood carvings and always fresh flowers, is low key and subtle, perfect for those nights out with friends and family whether youre local to the area or enjoying a holiday in this historic area of North Wales. Chef Noo, renowned for the authenticity of his recipes, offers a wide ranging menu straight from the Bangkok streets.
