Visited this place a few years ago and had 'bigged' it up to friends so really wanted to re-visit with them (hoping standards hadn't dropped). Went of a Friday night, not many covers and it wasn't full so lovely atmosphere. Meal exceed all our expectations, imaginative menu and all food presented wonderfully - flavours and quality all fantastic. Waiting staff... More

The restaurant was packed and there was a real buzzy atmosphere. You walk past the chef cooking in the kitchen on the way in and he still had time to welcome us. A delicious amuse-bouche of a hot and cold tea and a good selection of starters. Main course you choose your fish from a massive list and then decide... More

Our friends who knew the restaurant took us there for a birthday treat and what a treat it was. From the amuse bouche to the final bite, it was a sensation for the eyes and the palate. Worthy of a Michelin star! Simply amazing. If you want the best fish, this is the place to come. Priced sensibly too.

We knew once we were greeted by the waiting staff that this restaurant was going to be amazing. The menu looked fabulous but we opted for the blind tasting menu, 4 courses for a very very reasonable 45 pounds each, you could go up to 10 courses and wine pairings as well. I really don't want to spoil the excitement... More

John Dory, lemon sole were both beautifully presented with Asian inspired garnish. Puddings totally inspired. Cherry Tree with tonga was one of the best I've EVER tasted. Lovely, professional team. Very talented chef with a passion for fish. Great concept. Would travel 3 hours from London just to visit this wonderful restaurant.

I'd even tackle the M25 again for this total gem of a find. Chef David made our trek from Knebworth completely worthwhile. Nathan Outlaw take note - THIS is how to create a 10 course tasting menu with originality, respect for the ingredients but ultimately packed with flavour. The restaurant decor at the back of the walk through fishmongers associated,... More

Had a lovely dining experience at Verveine restaurant, we opted for the 4 course taster menu and were not disappointed, every course accompanied with a nice glass of wine recommended by the restaurant owners and staff . The service was second to none and quality of food was superb , must give Sally a special mention for her friendly and... More

Not much to look at from the outside, you enter through the fishmongers and go through to the back of the shop where there is the bar and restaurant overlooking the small garden. We were greeted by the friendly staff and offered a seat by the window. Service was prompt but unobtrusive. Starters were ordered and the first extra was... More
