My in-laws love a bit of value and volume where their eating out is concerned so the Lord Louis is a weekly 'treat' for them and this time we were brought along to share the joy. I can't say I was looking forward to it but to be fair it was fine. If you're looking for service, tranquility and fine... More

Visited the Lord Louis for a Sunday Carvery, was shocked how bad it had got since we visited last, quite a while ago. The Carvery food appeared uninviting, most of the vegetables we're either dryed up or soggy. The roast potatoes we're showing signs of being re heated again and again. There are so many good places to eat in... More

Came here with friends for a meal and a drink, I am a vegetarian so opted for Macaroni Cheese wasn't the best looked like out of a tin and was ready in seconds, chips were nice and fresh. the others had a meat carvery which they enjoyed and was worth the money. So the 4 meals was £15, drinks were... More

Cheap basic functional stuff with an eye towards serving families and low income groups with a simple uninspiring but necessary resource.

We've got a dog so on this sunny afternoon it was nice to sit outside with our meals. Came here because there was a bit more choice for vegetarians with all the other roast bits (pots, Yorkshire etc) My daughter wanted chicken but was a bit disappointed that it was on the bone so was my mother. Mum decided on... More

Popped in for dinner as had visited the Lord Louis many years ago when visiting relatives in the area. Still excellent value for money, very accommodating for families and good choices on the menu.

Went there for an afternoon carvery, had a wonderful lunch, the food was fantastic and the service was excellent we didn't wait too long for anything. As it was a weekday there were plenty of tables available inside and out. Parking was plentiful and no need to worry about getting a space. We will definitely be visiting again.
