ON a glorious Bank Holiday Monday we stopped by for a light late lunch on our way home. The pleasant riverside setting was spoiled by heavy shade. (Far too many umbrellas as plenty of natural tree shade) However, that was minor compared to the paltry plate (supposedly large!) of Meat Platter!! I think there were more capers than anything on... We were just driving out of Chester we took a different route to pick our daughter up from work and decided to stop at the The Alyn for lunch. We ordered gammon and a steak sandwich from the menu. Whilst a little pricey the food was served fresh and piping hot. The location right on the River Alyn was perfect... More

Having stopped here for drinks one lunch time we went back for an evening meal. The quality of the food was excellent and all four of us really enjoyed our meal. The service was friendly and good and the location was scenic

My family were given a table here by a staff member and he told that he would bring us menus. We then waited at the table for 15 minutes with no menus and not even an offer of a drink. Several waiters tended to nearby tables without even looking at us. So we ended up walking out! The only thing... More

We sometimes decide to go out with the kids (20+) and the Alyn can be relied on to keep our steak & pints son & salad & Teetotal daughter happy. The wife and I also enjoy it, and the bill isn't too much for me to do my solo shouting dance . Value & quality up there for pub food.... More

Lovely setting sitting outside besides the river Alyn on a hot summers day. Lunch menu was excellent, a really good choice on all courses. The food when it arrived was good though the waiter service afforded to us whilst sitting outside was, in my opinion, appalling! We were able to take our dogs there, and they where made to feel... Four of us visited on spec for an evening meal. Glad we did so. Plenty of choice on the menu. We ordered 4 different meals which duly arrived, well presented by cheerful staff. We were all pleased with our meals and well filled with tasty food. Looking forward to our next visit.

First visit in a long time. Very good food from an extensive menu. Dined inside but there were tables available outside overlooking the river. Attentive staff ensured we were not waiting for anything and prices very reasonable. Well worth the visit. ps. good wi-fi signal throughout.

Description
Nestled on the banks of the River Alyn in the pretty village of Rossett North Wales, The Alyn Riverside Country Pub offers excellent food and boasts a unique riverside setting...Combined with a warm and friendly welcome, The Alyn is much more than the average village pub. We have recently welcomed abroad a new award winning head chef and we are very keen to show off his talent. We are now working even harder to produce the best locally sourced, home cooked food possible.
