In the past we have opted for the Sharrow Bay when we could but a very good room rate of less than £600 for three nights tempted us. Although traditional, there is none of the chintz of Sharrow Bay and the room was smart and comfy. The food was the main reason for our stay and certainly deserves its Good... More

Where better to have lunch on a sunny afternoon than the Ramsbeck? Food was good, service great, venue superb. The view was just sublime!

We stayed at the Rampsbeck on a dining package. We had an amazing 4 course meal plus canapes, amuse bouche, petit fours (normally £60 per person). All the food was excellent, well thought out and well presented. Very enjoyable. Good selection of wine across a wide price range. Mainly a couples venue.

We had a two night stay with the Fine Dining experience. It really was an experience, Fabulous picturesque location with views over Ullswater, very dog friendly with space to walk and we were allowed to have our dogs in the room. The food was outstanding and the service impeccable. The rooms was really a suite, very large and ornate and... More

This is a lovely hotel with excellent service. The room was big as was the bed and bathroom. All this made for a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was delicious with all the produce being fresh. This was my second time in 10 years. It had been refurbished to an excellent standard. I was told it is about to go through... More

Not only in awe of the breathtaking Lake Ullswater, the scenery, the walks, the sunshine! the Hotel Gardens, the delicious food, but also our beautiful and spacious room (very comfortable 2 rooms for 2 adults, 2 boys, 9 & 10; and 1 Labrador.) But, most importantly the genuine warmth, friendliness and generosity of the staff we met. It really made... More

We visited for afternoon tea on Saturday afternoon. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and eager to help without being intrusive. When booking, I was not 100% sure about numbers, but they were flexible and patient. They were brilliant about my allergies and served my food completely separate to the rest of the group. The cakes and sandwiches were delicious.... More

We stayed in the Waterside room for two nights. What a magnificent room with lake views. It was positively baronial with its large four poster bed and ample seating area. The bathroom was spacious and the water piping hot. We couldn't fault the accommodation! As for the restaurant, the Head Chef, Ben Wilkinson, needs to be congratulated on his exquisite... More

I visited the Rampsbeck Hotel for afternoon tea as a birthday treat for my mum. The hotel was quiet although I was informed it was fully booked. We sat in the window overlooking the car park and were promptly served by very friendly staff. The sandwiches were fresh and delicious. Scones and cream were warm and the cakes were very... More
