We arrived and walked in to the bar/restaurant area on an obviously busy evening whilst staying in a local lovely B & B. No one seemed interested in serving us or even welcoming us in the restaurant bar area, so we moved to the public bar area to try to order our drinks before deciding whether or not to order... More

Sunday lunch time, place quiet, plenty of spare tables. Good choice of food but very average. Chicken piri was dry and boring, not been marinaded.new potatoes were deep fried roasted, chose this meal for the plain new potatoes, not what i expected. Hubby s ploughmans, well no specially selected local cheese or ham, very boring. Veggie burger was bland lentils... More

We came to this deceptively large dining pub as we were visiting family in the area and they had recommended it ( and so had the B&B we were staying at ) even though it was very early evening the place was buzzing and obviously very popular with the locals Our meal consisted of my wifes whole lemon sole and... Very enjoyable meal with friends visiting from Germany. Good choice of meals and beers/ales to try. Booking made at 10am that day and delighted that we were able to visit an English pub and not be rushed. Staff friendly & helpful. Food delicious.

Evening number 2 and we tried this hostelry. Very nice country pub, glad we had satnav to find it. Staff were really nice. Very knowledgeable barman, explaining various ales and finding me one to my taste, after a free sampling. The Grandkids meals were really excellent, presented amusingly in a Billie can. They both had chicken nuggets. Not just any... More

We decided to eat at The Plough after a pleasant evening there the previous week when we found the staff and, particularly the man who we think runs this pub, were all very friendly and sociable but, oh, how we were so very disappointed. We decided to share the mussels in cream sauce starter which, although I thought the mussels... More

Had very enjoyable family meal here, great outdoor area although playground not very good for small children. Staff lovely especially Aimee, who served us, amazing food, great for the children too. Friendly atmosphere and didn't have to wait too long although there were 7 adults and 4 children. Very impressed, only thing that lets it down in my opinion is... More

There's no doubt the food at this place is lovely and love that there are always new things on the menu ! However we were left disappointed recently when we went for lunch on a Sunday there were only 2 other tables dining and at least 5 members of staff but the service was really slow , to the point... Made a last minute booking for ten people (family celebration) and left thankful that the original venue cancelled! Landlady was fantastic, very welcoming and clearly highly respected by staff who emulated her friendly professionalism. Food was great, ordered range of dishes from the menu which is varied without being too overwhelming, something for everyone. Kids were delighted to have their... More
