Beautiful setting, warm and cozy atmosphere, friendly server and very good food. Had polenta with porcini - rustic and delicious! Loved that they were cooking some of the meats on a grate set in the fireplace.

Red and white checked tablecloths, beautiful pergola, small windows with white curtains, very cozy and old fashioned but I wouldn't have it otherwise. The owner is very friendly, food is excellent, very relaxing atmosphere. The polenta is soft and the meat is tender. If you take the house wine it's ok but the wine list is pretty good and not... Real grotto feeling. Friendly staff - down to earth, straight forward.. Simple, but good food. Recommended. We landed here on a hike from Lugano to Morcote, its about half-way if you climb San Salvatore.

It is a very pleasant place. The people are friendly and the food is good without being extraordinary. Nevertheless all in all I recommend this grotto

The food was simple, yet very tasty. It was very very busy and yet the staff were polite. They speak multiple languages, including Italian, German and English. The interaction with the staff was one of the most pleasant I've had in Switzerland.

It is very difficult to find anything good to say on this visit. There was supposed to be a view to Lake Lugarno from the terrace, not. The food was a set menu of a salad of lettuce with some tomato. Then 3 pieces of roast meat and gravy with 1/2 a plate of flavourless 'glug', polenta €35. Then extra... More

We ate here today and the steak was out of this world although the surrounding are quite basic but my god the steak made up for this; plus the staff were so friendly.

We stopped here on our hike from San Salvatore to Melide. The concierge at the hotel had actually recommended the restaurant across the street but lucky for us it was closed, as the change in plans lead to one of the most memorable meals we had during our stay in Lugano. The service was prompt and friendly. After realizing the... More

Good local Ticinese food to be consumed with a local wine - we had fresh mushrooms ! The value for money is adequate. We were sitting on the terrace decorated with many plants. Ticinese music played at all times (sound system) - is ok for the hour you are enjoying your meal. Even better if you a resting when hiking... More
