A gem with sea views

Stopped by after watching the sunset on the beach. Welcomed by the staff who were warm and attentive throughout. We had the prawn saganaki and the fried cheese with walnut and honey (I can’t remember the full name of the dish) to start, followed by seabass and grouper for main. All of the fish was cooked to perfection. Tasty and tender without being overdone. The vegetables were welcome accompaniments and balanced out well. We also split a side of fried, smashed potatoes which were excellent. A little more expensive than other places but given the location, the friendliness of the staff and the food, we didn’t mind paying one bit. Excellent service and food. Would recommend.

Quality Modern Restaurant

Modern restaurant: clean lines, subdued colours & lighting with tables set well apart and a lovely view of the sea. The staff are all lovely and knowledgeable about the food & wine on offer and it is worth talking to them before ordering. It is primarily a fish restaurant but does cover all the bases. I have to say that the cuttlefish stuffed with feta and spinach was a revelation and I so glad that I was encouraged to order that rather than perhaps a "safer" option. It is not cheap but the quality of the food, the wine, the ambience and the staff made it worth every penny. Loved it

Best restaurant in Alykes

This is our favourite restaurant in Alykes! We ate here on our first night in Zakynthos after reading the wonderful reviews, and the moment we set foot in the restaurant we fell completely in love with it. All of the staff are so welcoming and attentive, and they really do all they can to ensure their guests are looked after. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning and is situated right on the beach. The food is delicious, and is presented beautifully. We wished we could have eaten starters, mains and deserts but the portion sizes in Alykes are huge, and so we only ever managed main courses. For 2 main dishes, 1 Greek salad to share, 1 large still water, 1 glass of wine, 1 beer and some bread and olives, it came to around €60. Would highly recommend this restaurant and hope to visit again in the future.

Disappointing and frustrating experience.

We tried this place as walk ins one evening. We were welcomed and given a table for two close to the beach front. Off to a good start as the place looked nice and modern and we thought we were in for a good evening. After sitting for about 10mins with no menu. I called on a waitress and ask for them, no apology for the oversight. The place was not busy at the time, there were about ten tables in at the time and around 5 staff some busy some not. A waiter took our drinks order and the drinks arrived quickly. After taking our food order we were then in for another long wait, a couple were seated at a table next to us ordered after us, yet their starter ( which was the same as ours) arrived well before ours. In fact our starters never arrived at all. The waiter appeared with our mains and I asked him to ensure we were not charged for our starters, at that point he said they were on their way. Hmmm, I doubted that very much, no thanks we don’t want them at the same time as our mains. Again no apology for the oversight. The food we did get, was fine (lamb with mash and a pork tomahawk with potatoes) hence the 2 stars and not 1 star. The restaurant is trying to go for a higher end feel, unfortunately for this place, their service staff let them down. Despite knowing we were not impressed, we were not asked if our food was ok. We went more time waiting than eating in this place. I’m not in the habit of giving poor reviews, nor am I in the habit of not tipping in restaurants but this place absolutely merited both. If you want decent food with woefully inadequate service, then this is the best place for you.

Went back here today as we normally do. Not great actually. Beds lovely and comfortable but there was one poor girl just manning all the sunbeds on her own, whilst three staff all stood watching her! Perhaps the staff need to be training on going to help where the money is as the restaurant was empty. Food I have the same thing every year the cold pasta salad. I was really looking forward to it today and how disappointed I was when it came. I think it’s 11€ and for that I got hard pasta, three cherry tomatoes, 3 tiny bits of prosciutto and the smallest pieces of peppers someone with worse eyesight than me wouldn’t have even spotted. Shame. I’ll certainly use the beds but will nip off for lunch somewhere else

Fishalida Alykes is a great beach bar and restaurant. The food here is just a little more expensive than some of its neighbours, but it’s worth every cent for the superb quality and variety. On the beach the sun beds are stylish and very comfortable, with deep mattresses. The staff here are simply lovely, and the service is excellent both in the restaurant and to the beach. Totally recommend!

Lovely day on the beach with great service.

I spent a day on the beach here and also had lunch. These were the most comfortable sun loungers. You pay €20 plus you have to buy water for €3. So not cheap, but totally worth it. This area of the beach is so beautiful and the sea is shallow and great for swimming. The taverna has a shower on the beach as well. There’s a lovely girl who gives waitress service to the sun loungers, she’s so sweet and works so hard always with a smile (please tip her). I had a really great lunch of squid with a glass of wine, and it was a really nice place to sit. The taverna is really smartly decorated and the tables all have a great view of the beach. I had such a great day, relaxing here and would recommend this place.

Poor food, poor service and wrong information

Very disappointed. Food not very good quality and very expensive. There was a problem with my meal and waiter not interested. I ordered prawn saganaki and before ordering I asked if the prawns were shell on or were they off the shell. I was told they had no shell. When dish arrived all prawns were in their shell. My husband removed the shells for me. They were inedible as rubbery. Will not be going back

Excellent food and service.

We often visit Fishalida on our visits to Alykes, and without exception we have found both the food and service to be excellent. We visited again two nights ago and both of our meals were lovely and excellent value. Wine is also very good and reasonably priced. Service was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Location is an added bonus. We will go here again before we leave. I can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Alykes.

Fabulous sunset views

Fabulous setting right on the beach, wonderful sunset view. A bit more pricey than most of the restaurants in Alykes but worth it if you want a good fish meal. I had Sea Bream and hubby had Sea Bass fillets and both meals were superb. Including a bottle (no carafes on the menu here) of wine, water and a couple of starters the bill came to 80 euros.

Amazing food and ambience

This restaurant caters for all, if your a fish lover or a meat lover. My partner had anchovies to start followed by tuna steak….which they cooked as per his instructions. He said it was amazing. I had the lamb which melted in the mouth and the sauce was extremely tasty. The waiting staff were very attentive, the setting is lovely by the sea. This restaurant is probably the most expensive we have been to on the holiday but the it was well worth it and we will be going back before our holiday ends.

We were expecting top notch looking at reviews in RA and whilst the decor and service was outstanding the food was definitely mediocre. The moussaka was not presented Nicky-looked as though it had just been put on a plate and microwaved and the Tiramisu was probably the worst we have ever had-hard sponge fingers with creamy sauce poured over. It certainly didn’t seem to have been prepared in advance Wouldn’t return there are plenty of better and cheaper in the area

Elegant beach restaurant

On the beach, you can smell the sea breeze. Food was amazing very tasty and with a European influence with combined Greek flavours Every single dish was amazing presented in high standard service from waiter. Menus in English too Very fresh fish dishes and very tasty. The restaurant provides parasols and loungers just in front of it on the beach.

From the moment you walk up the beautifully created boardwalk entrance to this restaurant you know it’s going to be special. We enjoyed five lovely meals in our three week holiday to Alykes and the food, service and ambience was simply perfect. Best place for fish dishes In Alykes by some way with Octopus, sea bass and prawn linguine amongst others were all delicious. Book to reserve a stunning table looking out to sea and you will create some beautiful memories.

Luxurious restaurant

We went to this restaurant in the evening for dinner. The waiters noticed us as soon as we came in and did their job very well. We ordered a few dishes - sardines, salad with mozzarella di buffalo, tuna tartar, salad with figas and a few more. The dishes came nicely served, delicious. They seemed actually luxurious. Overall we liked it but it is a little bit costly - keep this in mind if you are travelling on a budget. However, I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a little bit of spice during your holidays.
