Went for meal just before Christmas. We were served fish cakes still frozen in the middle. This was replace by soup that took ages to arrive. Main meal was beef pie. It was not good. The accompanying mash potatoe was not good, neither was the chips - usually so good. We have eaten here a few times. Our previous visit... More

The food here is the most excellent I have tasted in a long time. It is expensive but worth every penny.

Sunday lunch at its best. Tender roast beef, real home cooked roast potatoes & all the trimmings. The landlord & his team are very friendly & have created a great atmosphere. Top marks!

Stumbled upon this pub whilst looking for another (The White Horse) to ask for directions. As mentioned in my review of the latter, didn't like it, so went back to this one. A lovely friendly and helpful barmaid / waitress. Bright and airy with a good menu. Outside seating as well. Thoroughly recommend.

Have eaten here on a few occasions and have always had a warm welcome by the staff and a great meal. The food is always wonderful and locally sourced with a good choice on the menu. This is a popular place so need to book but well worth waiting for. A lovely cosy atmosphere with friendly staff - not cheap... More

#1 of #1 in Froxfield doesn't mean very much on its own as The Trooper is all that there is on the road from Petersfield to the A32 but it is worth driving there. We had a family lunch. The menu was diverse with an excellent choice for both meat eaters and vegetarians and it all had a distinctive home... More

The Trooper has gorgeous food - it's a sort of Moroccan/British fusion, not something you'd expect in the Hampshire countryside, but well worth the journey. Each dish is a delight both in its taste and its presentation. The only tiny niggle that I have is that sometimes the service can be a bit slow. But the food is worth the... More
