The drive to this isolated, unexpected and beautiful restaurant was dramatic- we had spotted the sign on the Lochaline road and decided to branch off in search of a meal. Maybe we didn't read the sign properly but on arrival we found it is only open a few days a week. It has a perfect setting and looks so inviting we... More

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. Our opening times are indeed listed on the road signs so it's unfortunate that you missed them. Hopefully you enjoyed the stunning views whilst driving through anyway and we hope you will be able to pay us another visit when we're open to review the restaurant and food. More

Happened upon this wonderful establishment. Had a delicious lunch, food was beautifully presented by Chef Chris and we were made very welcome by the lovely Catherine. All very well thought out, lovely decor, very in keeping with the beautiful scenery. Would highly recommend if in the Ardgour area or worth a visit from further afield.

Unbeatable location. Fine dining in a relaxed and informal way. Overlook the loch on their balcony. What a drive over - saw red deer. Kids love it and keep asking to go back.

Popped in for a bite to eat and was blown away by this crackin restaurant. Friendly welcome, food was top notch and prices really good! I had the haggis croquets and sticky toffee pudding! A taste sensation 😉Dogs are allowed on the patio as well. Will definitely return!

We cycled from Kilmalieu to The Boathouse when we found it was open again and had a most delicious Sunday lunch outside in the sun. The service was friendly and attentive, the food excellently cooked and the price just right. It's worth a special journey.

We had a lovely visit to the Boathouse in Kingairloch, a great half way stop on our cycle from Ardgour. This is such a wonderful location, the views from the restaurant are quite spectacular. The restaurant is really nicely decorated and well laid out. The staff are friendly, relaxed and attentive. The prices are excellent. We had the 3 course... More

We were out for a drive on Sunday and chanced popping in for a cup of tea. Despite them being fairly busy - although it was at the end of the service - we were welcomed and shown to a lovely seat on the balcony overlooking the loch. The coffee was nice and very reasonably priced. On the way out,... More

It was so good to be able to return to the Boathouse recently and to see it up and running again. Where else can you find such a special atmosphere, location and fine food? The warm welcome was followed by a fine meal .... I thoroughly enjoyed my starter of scallops, and the dessert was a delight! It'll be good... More

The Kingairloch Highland Estate is another world where there is peace, wonderful scenery and the chance to recharge your batteries. The Boathouse sits at the waters edge and a warm welcome awaits inside. The menu is a little limited but the food is nicely presented and good to eat.

Just had a lovely, freshly cooked meal at the boathouse and so pleased we decided to give it one more try. New chef and wife are lovely and friendly, nothing too much trouble, prices very reasonable and menu choice/food/presentation and music make for a perfect meal out. Good luck Chris and Catherine, may you have along successful first season in... More
