Very nice restaurant. The food is very good, the persons who work there are very nice. Besides, the owner has given much attention for the decoration of the restaurant. Top!

Nice atmosphere and good food

Went with my girlfriend for some tapas. The quality was very god bit I did miss the gravy or sauces on some of the tapas. Their wine selection is very impressive and the waiters really know their stuff.

We visited here on Sunday 23rd July for my partner's birthday. On arrival we received a friendly welcome and were offered a choice of tables. The English print menu is a little small but at least is understandable. This is a tapas restaurant and is intended that the meal takes time. We ordered 4 dishes to start and all were cooked to perfection. We then ordered 4 more. This was about all we could eat so we finished with sorbet. Including a bottle of wine the meal for two cost 63 euros, it was good value, well presented and a welcoming atmosphere. I would recommend this to anybody.

Wine and Tapas - and a great experience

We had a business dinner after a long meeting. We shared the cold and warm tapas. Any plate we got on the table was empty immediately as it was so delicious. And the team provides a great service! I'm looking forward to the next meeting - my choice for the dinner place is set!

Worth a detour

If you're looking for a nice, relatively quiet place to have a decent meal, look no further. It's a bit out of the way from the city, but in my opinion definitely worth making the detour to the old center of Nieuwerkerk a/d IJssel. The menu consists of tapas, with such classics as patatas bravas and albondigas, but also own creations. The mushrooms filled with cheese are my favorite item from the menu; give them a try! They also serve some nice wines, both Spanish and from other countries. Tuesdays thru Thursdays, you can make use of an "all you can eat" arrangement; haven't tried that, but either way the restaurant is budget friendly. Well worth a visit, according to this frequent visitor!

Ate at Van S!

Another delicious meal at Van S, everything was of top quality again. From tenderloin skewers to goat cheese croquettes, they were fantastic and the wine was delicious too!

Nice cozy little restaurant. Friendly staff and delicious tapas with lots of choice. For us the portions were even a bit too large, better to order twice than once as much, especially with unlimited orders, but this did not detract from the quality. It was really great. Even our youngest enjoyed it and that tells us enough 😁. We will definitely go again.

Meh, food wasn't that good. Limp calamari, tasteless shrimp, unappetizing stuffed peppers. Nothing can go wrong with green grilled peppers, so they taste delicious. But service super nice

Too expensive

We had a nice meal until the bill came and we were terribly shocked. It was unlimited Tapas Limitado for 32.50. Yes, unlimited people, but pay attention. You have to pay extra for a lot. If you take Pata Negra for example, you pay no less than 9.00 euros extra for it. We were shocked when we had to pay and we didn't even eat that much. Too bad Van-S, very unfortunate.
