About
Tawerna is an atmospheric restaurant located in a picturesque area by the Drwęckie Lake. Built on piles driven into the bottom of the canal, it is surrounded by greenery. We offer home-made meals and our cuisine is varied. We recommend home-made dumplings and pancakes, fish, meat, pasta, as well as pizzas and desserts. Our showpiece is the delicious apple pie served with ice cream and raspberry mousse. We also rent water equipment and bicycles. You're welcome!

Fantastic spot for lunch, dinner or just few drinks near the lake. It is slightly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the promenade but a minute- walk from the lake. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, serving delicious crowd pleaser menu with a selection of local beers. Service is spot on, informal and friendly but quick and professional. Nice outdoor sitting area gets busy so best to book ahead.

The place looks really magical, food was ok, but I expected more. It's tasty, good portions & price, but rather served like at home.

Very charming place with a varied meny. Good pizza, and great pirogi. The style is quite rustique, so don't expect posh stylish meals here.

Pasta overcooked and far to greasy/fatty to the point you could see it congealing on the plate, pizza dry with hardly any toppings. Service was very brief but slow… wouldn’t return even if it was free!

During my stay in Ostróda I visited a lot of restaurants. This one seemd to be be very nice place, but quality of food was not good. Staff wasn't nice and helpful. The worst pizza I ever tried, full of fat, with strange spicies, dry meat and awful salads. One point for food and staff, second for the climatic location.

We were there with my girl friend for a dinner.
Tawerna is a restraunt perfect if you want to just eat something - don't expect too much.
Waitress said she is new here so she doesn't know the menu, and can't say almost anything about the dishes (even if they have "soup of the day" - it was almost 5pm).
We ordered a starter, tea and the main (cod and chicken breast).
It was nice but waitress forgot about a salads.
The real shock was when we saw a receipt. They counted us an almost 1kg (exactly: 0,8kg) piece of the cod! Waitress sent us directly to the manager, manager said: the computer must omit one digit and it should be 0,18 not 0,8.
No "excuse us", nothing. They just corrected our receipt and thats all.
Not going to visit anymore.

I really enjoyed the place, decorations. Service is a really good - first class. But when I ordered the food.. It was a disaster. I've ordered potato cake, and unfortunetely potatoes was old. It had a weird taste. Did not enjoyed this part of visit in Tawerna. Everything else is great.

Nice location, at the end of the lake promenade, tucked away in a corner, we happened upon this gem. First of all, I have got to say the value is insane, we dinned on two nights, both times, the bill was under €20 ( wine, soft drinks, pizza's, sides, and desserts). This place is so good, that we drove off in our motorhome, and decided after about 40kms, that we just have to go back depsite the 80km round trip.
The menu is in English and the restaurant is comfortable with nice decor, the service is also good but what you have got to go here for is the pizza. Hats off to the chef, these are the best pizza's we have ever tasted, we didn't try anything else on the menu on our second visit as we couldn't resist the pizza. The quality was top notch, excellent flavors, fresh, and if there is a big eater ( like my husband) they wont be disappointed.
This place was full of locals which is generally a good sign of consistent quality, so if you are in Ostroda, you just have got to go here.
Every town deserves a restaurant this good !!!!!

Generally, the dishes are tasty and the service is nice, but there is something wrong with the managers and they cannot cope with a larger number of guests, and Tymbarska's simple dishes, such as dumplings, which my wife loves, they have never had them on four visits and are always explained in a strange way. On the weekend, because they had already run out, and after the weekend, because there was no new delivery yet... it would be better to withdraw the dish from the menu than to constantly tell customers lies.
