A lovely, cosy restaurant which was just what we needed after a long journey with too many delays. Our host was wonderful as was the food, I especially enjoyed the set seafood menu while my wife loved her pork dish. All washed down with some...More

We were extremely well received. The patron welcomed us and gave us our drinks and homemade popcorn while having a chat. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes in this restaurant in this quiet little town. The Wagyu Bresaola and Wagyu burger...More

My partner and I ate here last Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We had a parsnip soup as an amuse-bouche which was delicious. For starters, I had the snails- I only ordered 6 (but wish I had gone for 12 after tasting them!) and...More

Although we were the only people in on a Friday night, which made the atmosphere a little quiet, we enjoyed our meals and the service we got. If in Watou again, we would happily go back.

We ate here on Saturday night and had a special meal. The menu was very varied with some quality choices to select from. We tried the Wagyu beef which was exceptional. I always think that the test of a good restaurant is if there is...More

I was at this restaurant in the middle of the week, out-of-season. I was the only guest. The inside of the restaurant had a pungent smell of frying oil. The waiter/owner explained that this was caused by cleaning the frying pan. I ordered lamb chops....More

Enjoying a quiet evening, working at the website comes in this “gentleman”. I knew I was in for hassle...A few comments to his remarks. Hopefully better during high season: our quality standard is always the same, day in day out. Pungent smell of frying oil:...More

We had a great dinner and a warm welcome as well as a personal translation of the menu into English from the Owner. The local village has a number of restaurants and we were pleased with our choice of De Paterstafel.

Great little restaurant on the square in Watou. Small and intimate, you feel that you are a guest in someone's home. The wall mural and quirky table add to the atmosphere, and the food was excellent. I've said "yes" to kids, but it would be...More

The host was very rude and clearly taking advantage of the fact that they were the only open restaurant in town that night. We won't be returning.More

No idea what happened. Apparently those people did not have a meal in our restaurant as there is no comment on the food. They probably showed up without reservation and were informed they could not have diner or lunch. I do understand their disappointment and...More

A good meal, the fish menu was very tasty. Beer from St Bernardus so obviously delicious. The host kindly kept the score from the England - Iceland game to himself until we foolishly insisted.
