I have to tell you that the bread is very plain, it makes your stomach very upset. The bread looks like pancakes to draw you in. Apart from the bread, all the dishes are really nice. Staff are very nice.

This is one of my "go to" spots in Melbourne. The food is terrific, the waitstaff are great and the prices are very reasonable. It is BYO but there is also a good list of wines and beers at reasonable prices. There is a great...More

A little too hot for me, but the food was delicious & different. Try all the different types of food & bread, as the style of cuisine is quite unique. A limited beer & wine menu. Casual service, but in the heart of funky Brunswick

I love this restaurant. It is always refreshing to find a restaurant that is genuine about culture, rather than the majority of establishments in the area that are nothing but pretence. The food here is amazing. And best of all, it actually is borderline identical...More

I've eaten at Nyala several times and always enjoyed the food and the warm friendly atmosphere. The food is quite spicey but staff are on hand to offer advice and make any adjustments if necessary. My favourite dishes are the baboutie and the beg tibs....More

Been there for lunch with my family. Great tasty rustic style food. We had several types of meat and all was great. Banana dessert and Ethiopian coffee were awesome too and all this at very reasonable price. Fully recommend.

Fitzroy is an unusual blend of working class roots,
hip gentrification, and a robust bohemian work ethic.
Along Brunswick Street and its side streets, you'll
find little independent shops where local clothes and
furniture designers display their wares. There are
specialist bookshops, funky record bars, and quality
vintage clothing shops where browsing is the next best
thing to buying. Gertrude Street is famous for its
