Gorgeous coffee shop in super hip Fitzroy with beautiful hanging plants, huge windows for much light, and yes, drought beer too. Charming staff as well.

Just happened to drop in for coffee and found this to be very pleasant place t chat and watch the world go by. Great use of an old shop front. Eclectic furnishing and decor make for an interesting look. Staff were friendly and the coffee was excellent.

Lovely relaxed lounging environment. Very limited menu meant that I couldn't eat anything there, due to a couple of food allergies. No almond milk. No gluten free bread. Staff were ok and it was nice and warm inside. Would recommend for those wanting to meet friends before dinner or have

We went there on Monday 2nd of May in the morning and a chick with dark hair was working. Despite the lack of choice, my partner ordered a banana bread. The girl was incredibly rude and arrogant. I couldn't tolerate this 5 year old behaviour if I was her boss. I went to the bathroom and then I heard her... More

This was our first time visiting Black Cat. We met up with friends that we haven't seen in ages, and although there were only three of us sitting inside, the DJ persisted to play the music at level that required shouting into the ear of the person sitting next to you on the couch. For a pub/club/larger bar this might... More

We had a coffee at the Black Cat one afternoon. The place is really awesome, original and funny. You can chill on couches or have a drink outside, as well as get some food. A DJ was there, so the music was nice to hear. We had a good moment!

We loved this spot. Very relaxed and friendly staff. Welcoming and chatty. DJ playing great variety. Very comfy shabby chic! Will definitely return next time in Melbourne.

Dropped in on a rainy Thursday night with a couple of old friends. We wanted somewhere to chat quietly, not having seen each other for a while, and this place fit the bill. The setting was comfortable and relaxed, and though the DJ persisted with the same monotonous music for the three hours we were there, that was fine as... More

This bar is great, with the staff behind the bar really welcoming and friendly and happy to assist with any need you may have. DJ putting out mellow tunes along with 70s couches that force you to fall into each other make this a place to cuddle up for some yummy drinks.
