I attended with a group of 7 for a birthday dinner and am sorry to say it was an unpleasant experience. Despite confirming the booking the night before, we were told on arrival that there was no record of our booking. After waiting some time,...More

This was a really authentic mexican restaurant with a great atmosphere and cool artwork. Could hear the waiters and chefs speaking in Spanish, so we got the opportunity to practise our Spanish because we felt comfortable there. I think we got a banquet to share...More

This is probably one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in Melbourne. Food was fresh, full of flavour and nicely presented. The room is vibrant and informal with a nice buzz. Service is very good.

We had a nice meal at this restaurant. It was a step above the average Mexican restaurant. The services was polite but a little slow. The food as I alluded to was pleasant and the variety of Mexican drinks was very good. It was nice.

What a great place to dine. Bright colours, really interesting decor, happy and vibrant staff, excellent food, great menu and different drinks. The place is loud and the tables are close, but that fits in with the vibe of the place. We had Pescado del...More

Loved this place, the food was all very well done, I was impressed by the vibrant fresh flavours each dish delivered. We ate a few different things, all of which impressed us. The fish tacos and Alambre De Res were particularly nice! The decor was...More

Finding good Mexican food in Australia is hard, but Los Amates is the real thing, more than just tacos and burritos (though they have those). This is rustic traditional Mexican at its best - nothing pretentious about it. There were two of us, we started...More
