At $24 per person ($48 for me and my friend), you’d expect a bit more than just bland paella with just 1 prawn to share between 2 people. Honestly, a rip off. Even places like Anadas nearby, a fancier place charges less and tastes a...More

This place is a small restaurant nestled around in suburban Melbourne. The live performance is spectacular and so is the food. The tapas are tasty and quiet flavoursome. The flan too was good. But then the star of the restaurant is the live performance. The...More

Thank you for your comment. Our flamenco shows run for 30-35min as advertised. On the night that you attended our female dancer was ill and could not continue however our main principal dancer (male) took over and danced the entire show along with the guitar(30-35min)....More

Hello, thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the flamenco and will take into consideration your comments regarding the food but are you sure you dined at kanela because the tapas you mention (sardines on toast), we don't actually have that on...More

Popped in for a quick pre-show snack. We weren't disappointed! Service was great and serving very quick. Atmosphere certainly took us back to Cuba or Mexico. And try the Chilli Margarita - rock your sox off!

Full of unbridled Spanish spirit, this Melbourne restaurant serves a delicious variety of traditional tapas to the sights and sounds of fiery flamenco dancers. Regular performances by the Melburnian Arte Kanela dance troupe guarantee the spice isn't reserved for the cooking. The signature dish here is the much-loved classic paella: rice and seafood cooked slowly in a large, cast-iron pan. It's simple cooking at its best and the generous servings mean it's best shared between friends. Diners can choose to sit in the modest outdoor area or inside, where the dim red lighting casts a warm glow over the rustic wooden furnishings.
