I had dinner here and I cannot praise these guys enough for the lovely service and fantastic food. There is room at the bar that's great for solo diners like myself, and the tapas menu is fun with lots of variety. I'd also recommend the interesting and unique wine list with a range of local and Spanish wines. Their specialty... More

Started with a couple of cocktails, the New Spain and the Flor de Jerez. The New Spain is a well balanced Mezcal based cocktail, and the Flor de Jerez a run sherry and apricot liqueur cocktail that has an excellent balance of flavours. We chose a selection of tapas to start, the olives are amazingly good, the Sydney Rock oysters... More

Great Tapas restaurant. Order the set menu, make a few changes if you like. No matter what they send out it will be good. The service is excellent and the atmosphere casual and buzzy. A small restaurant but a ream gem. Good Bar selections as well.

We thought we had been to good Tapas restaurants, but Anada tops the list. Beautifully crafted, subtle flavours, presentation A+, wide variety, and fully explained by the most helpful of staff. Oh,I forgot to mention the great cocktail choices and wine list. Best of all, we could afford it!

Anada is a place that we go to for treat nights out or if trying to introduce friends to this wonderful place. We always go for the banquet option as it gives a great selection and means you can try that much more delicious food. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and we can't recommend this place more highly.

I went to Anada as a group of 14, despite being a tiny hole in the wall this place had the service and food excellence of any 5 star hotel dining experience I've had. The food was delicious and very generous for a set menu, we are all big eaters and were left content and very satisfied after our meals... More

I'm not big on Spanish food. I don't much like sherry or Sangria either. Despite this, I like Anada. Friendly and knowledgeable staff help. And they are both. The restaurant/bar is small giving an air of intimacy. Also makes it a good idea to book. There is seating round the bar, which is surprisingly pleasant. The effect is of a... More

This place is honestly amazing. I have been to Spain and this place just reminded me of Spain. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant took me back to Spain. The food is authentic, flavoursome Spanish food which uses and highlights some of Australian finest produce. The drinks are great and the sangria was so delicious and authentic. We decided... More

Great trendy spot in Gertrude street for Spanish tapas, usual smaller tables or a larger table with stools for 8-10 at the back that we had. Extremely friendly staff who are on the ball, and keep you well fed and watered. We chose the banquet for 8 and they catered perfectly for the 2 vegos in our group who had... More

Had dinner here on a Monday night catching up with friends who had also spent time travelling through Spain. The food, service and atmosphere was fantastic. A great variety of dishes inspired from different parts of Spain. The menu was well priced. Would recommend the bread tapas with marrow, jamon, and chickpea rachoes.

Staying in Fitzroy

Neighborhood Profile
Fitzroy
Fitzroy is an unusual blend of working class roots, hip gentrification, and a robust bohemian work ethic. Along Brunswick Street and its side streets, you'll find little independent shops where local clothes and furniture designers display their wares. There are specialist bookshops, funky record bars, and quality vintage clothing shops where browsing is the next best thing to buying. Gertrude Street is famous for its cuisine and art galleries, but if you want to buy an old-fashioned snooker table, there is a shop for that too. Small pubs still exist, tucked away on the corners of suburban side streets that serve up traditional Sunday roasts. Live music abounds, and the street performers play so hard you worry to tip them would ruin their concentration. Venture to the Spanish quarter on Johnston Street and you may even find street dancing. It is all happening amidst off-beat street murals and the shuffle of a very funky neighborhood that embraces both old and new.
