I'm not big on Spanish food. I don't much like sherry or Sangria either. Despite this, I like Anada. Friendly and knowledgeable staff help. And they are both. The restaurant/bar is small giving an air of intimacy. Also makes it a good idea to book. There is seating round the bar, which is surprisingly pleasant. The effect is of a... More

This place is honestly amazing. I have been to Spain and this place just reminded me of Spain. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant took me back to Spain. The food is authentic, flavoursome Spanish food which uses and highlights some of Australian finest produce. The drinks are great and the sangria was so delicious and authentic. We decided... More

Great trendy spot in Gertrude street for Spanish tapas, usual smaller tables or a larger table with stools for 8-10 at the back that we had. Extremely friendly staff who are on the ball, and keep you well fed and watered. We chose the banquet for 8 and they catered perfectly for the 2 vegos in our group who had... More

Had dinner here on a Monday night catching up with friends who had also spent time travelling through Spain. The food, service and atmosphere was fantastic. A great variety of dishes inspired from different parts of Spain. The menu was well priced. Would recommend the bread tapas with marrow, jamon, and chickpea rachoes.

Well i have been to Anada a couple of times in the previous years and all i can say is it gets better and better!! It was our 10 year wedding anniversary and my first choice (which didn't take bookings) didn't quite meet up for my husbands expectations of an intimate dinner... so trawling Smith street on a friday night... We were staying in Gertrude Street, so this was just down the road from us. It's fairly small inside but that adds to it's charm and gives it more of an authentic Spanish tapas bar feel. The tapas we had were very good, if a bit small, with the quail the standout and the eggplant our least favourite. As the... More

A funky little restaurant with a tasty variety if tapas and mains. The rosė was pretty special too. Some of the serves could have been larger but overall the food was good, service good and the atmosphere was great. We had plenty of time to finish our dinner in the allotted time frame. We would go back. My fave was... More

Difficult to explain what an amazing experience myself and my husband had here this evening!! The food (the tasting menu) drinks (assisted in our choices by our wonderful waiter) and ambience were second to none. In a city crammed with wonderful eateries Anada and its staff genuinely go over and above to please. Nothing is to much trouble, such high... More

Staying in Fitzroy

Neighborhood Profile
Fitzroy
Fitzroy is an unusual blend of working class roots, hip gentrification, and a robust bohemian work ethic. Along Brunswick Street and its side streets, you'll find little independent shops where local clothes and furniture designers display their wares. There are specialist bookshops, funky record bars, and quality vintage clothing shops where browsing is the next best thing to buying. Gertrude Street is famous for its cuisine and art galleries, but if you want to buy an old-fashioned snooker table, there is a shop for that too. Small pubs still exist, tucked away on the corners of suburban side streets that serve up traditional Sunday roasts. Live music abounds, and the street performers play so hard you worry to tip them would ruin their concentration. Venture to the Spanish quarter on Johnston Street and you may even find street dancing. It is all happening amidst off-beat street murals and the shuffle of a very funky neighborhood that embraces both old and new.
