About
Is located in the municipality of Trecase, in the province of Naples, right in the heart of the Vesuvius National Park. This is a magical place, with wonderful natural scenery and breath-taking views, certain to lift away any cares and absorb your attention. Maurizio Russo began his project by producing wines, following in the footsteps of his father, Giovanni, who first established the family business back in 1951. To the north lies the sea, and to the south the age-old grandeur of Mount Vesuvius. In between, is this truly amazing landscape, with vineyards and olive-groves planted in dark soil, rich in lava. Set amongst the green vines is a white building with our reception area where you will

This experience deserves a standing ovation for the food, the knowledge and care put into the vineyard, and of course, THE WINE! It started off on a great foot when we were picked up at the station and whisked away to the vineyard. The driver...was kind and conversational, and we chatted about life on the short drive to the vineyard. When we stepped out, we were greeted by our tour guide for the vineyard. I wish I remember his name, because I remember how well he explained the unique, precious qualities of the vineyard located on Vesuvius. He explained how and why they grow, process, and ferment their grapes. It's worth noting Cantina del Vesuvio practices sustainable agriculture, reusing as much of their materials as possible (ie, grape stems removed in processing are reused as fertilizer). Incredibly, they don't use ANY WATER OR IRRIGATION for their wine- an INCREDIBLE feat for sustainability! After the tour, we were sat at a table with a stunning view of the vineyard, the Amalfi coast, and Capri in the distance. The food was absolutely delicious, and there was so much of it! They were considerate about my partner's lactose intolerance, and instead of just removing any cheese items from his plate they offered substitutes- a kind gesture I really appreciate! And the wine... I'll save you paragraphs of glowing reviews, and leave you with this. GO. Visit Cantina del Vesuvio, pet the ADORABLE and extremely sweet farm cat, learn about the unique beauty of this land, eat delicious, rustic, perfect Italian food, and drink some of the tastiest wine your palette may ever have the pleasure to experience.More

Our taxi driver suggested stopping off here after visiting Pompei. It is a truly beautiful spot, very interesting to hear about the grapes and olives. Meal and wines were nice but felt very rushed through the courses. Delicious olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Wonderful view...of Vesuvius.More

Visited here for tour, wine tasting & lunch when visiting Herculenim in the morning. Excellent addition to the day and so glad we decided to inorporate it. They arranged complimentary collection and return from either the local train station (our option) or from Pompeii. The...wine was great, with some interesting characteristics, that can only be bought direct from the vineyard. Their balsamic vinegar they also make was a taste revelation, absolutely amazing. We bought several bottles of wine and vinegar which they arranged to ship to our home address. Great service. Very enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend.More

This winery was just lovely!!! The view is beautiful, and the wines and food delicious. GREAT value for the lunch wine tasting. And it's so close to Pompeii it is a great way to break up your day if you are doing lots of sightseeing.

Wonderful place. Very warm, hospitable and accommodating service. Open and spacious surroundings and dining area. Very clean. They make you feel at home immediately. I came alone on a weekend tour while the wife was out of town. Read about their incredible wines from vineyards...right behind the restaurant, to include their Lacryma Christi. Food is superb too...the Mediterranean /Neapolitan experience you’d expect sitting in the warm sun of the south slope of Vesuvius. Highly recommend the “superiore experience” for around €35. Reserve on their website or just show up. They got back to me within 20 minutes of emailing and told me to show as I liked - flexible. The experience begins with a warm greeting on arrival, lemon infused water, a glass of refreshing spumantë while you do a 15 minute guided tour of the nature and history of their grapes, vineyards and winemaking processes (English available). This is all followed by a wonderful 3 course meal and intelligent selection of their wines (4 glasses, generous pours!). The experience ends with a homemade dessert and after dinner cocktail. I had my favorites for sure, but nothing was less than good. This is a 30 min ride out of the bustle of Naples and highly, highly recommended for an authentic experience. The family itself leads the tours, checks on you throughout meals, and ensures the quality of the overall experience. Locals and travelers alike.More

My favorite vineyard to visit. The best oil and vinegar I've ever tasted. I have visited this place so many times.

We enjoyed a wine tasting in English and some delicious gluten free foods. A beautiful and peaceful setting at the base of Vesuvio. The hosts and owner were very helpful and outgoing. We enjoyed a stop at the wine shop to purchase some wine and...glasses to enjoy at home. Definitely worth a visit or two!More

Highly recommended! We were a group of 10 and were collected free of charge from our accommodation in pompei and also dropped back by the staff. Lovely short but informative walk of the vines and then sat down for a fantastic lunch & wine tasting....There is a shop onsite & we purchased wine which was shipped home to the UK for us and arrived less than 7 days later! Will definitely be back on our next trip to the amalfi coast 🍋More

I would highly recommend vising this winery for lunch before or after Pompei. Do not eat before because you will have loads of traditional food with your wines - from pasta with pomodori to a delicious desert with loads of different local wines. Great experience...and loved the fact they give you a meal and wine experience not just a wine experience!More

I am unsure. I didn't see one. I believe a taxi can be used to make the trip but it is some distance.

Hi! No you can't but you can message the vineyard direct and they have a free pick up service! It was at least a 10 minute drive from that train station so I think a walk would be far too long. The vineyard is right on the... More
