Came to Laško only to eat here on my way from Vienna to Dalmatia. Hostess recommended Vila Monet for the night, perfect. Food prepared, presented and served flawlessly. Even desert, which I usually don't like, but my son had, was lovely and explained by the...Chef very knowledgeably and in great detail. I can't remember all the ingredients to the dishes, they were so numerous and all exotic albeit from local sources. The meal took 2 hours though, notwithstanding that the max number of guests was 6, and I was there with my younger son, so that spoiled the indulgence somewhat because he just grew too tired (and so did I, being on the road). Hence only 4 out of 5 points. The waiter is not to blame, he just hung about waiting for the dishes to get ready. Still a truly remarkable restaurant, and I haven't even mentioned the location, that could not be more romantic, scenic, tranquil and impressive. (They have to work on the men's washroom, though.) A clear recommendation, especially for adults or couples, which is what it is designed for anyway. It just would have been considerate to speed up proceedings for a young guest.More

Outstanding chef Marko Pavčnik with his team takes care for trend fine dinning in this part of Slovenia. With his extraordinary feeling for environment care hi leads you thru fresh local ingredients and preparation of fantastic food and presentation of plates. They are definitely one...of the best restaurants in country. The recommendation of wines is on the solid level. A marriage between food and wine is really well recommended. Employees are motivated and well trained. The waiter Luka is very positive and hardworking. Chef Marko comes regularly to welcome you and gives the overall story the highest mark. Definitely recommendable.More

We were at Pavus yesterday and had the vegan menu. Each dish was incredible and unforgettable. The course with red beet, hazelnut and blueberries is for sure one of the top 5 dishes I have ever eaten. The sommelier was amazing, the wine was superb....The venue outside rounds everything up. Chapeau to the Chef for this unbelievable menu!More

A culinary adventure of locally sourced produce, well worth the visit. The 10 course tasting menu is a triumph, with first class service, cooked by Slovenian chef of the year ‘22 Marko Pavčnik, this is a must for foodies who want to eat like a...king in the medieval Tobor castle setting, overlooking Lasko and the surrounding valleys. Greeted by a welcoming and high-end ambient (though the courtyard tent has a less castle feeling than expected), the view is transporting you to a story of times past but very alive. The staff is very professional, attentive, organised and accomodating. Tasting menus are plentiful....We had the pleasure of meeting the chef that greeted every table, personally presenting dishes and taking in feedback with warmth and a pleasant attitude. Admittedly every dish had at least a component that we deeply disliked. But creativity is undeniable. The menu is local and seasonal, sometimes km 0 (picked right at the castle), the ingredients treated at a level of professionalism that we rarely encountered, attention to detail evident. A recommended experience.More

This was one of the best, if not the best meals I ever had. The staff was super friendly, we felt like king and queen. And the food was simply amazing! It is not just an ordinary restaurant. This is a high cuisine restaurant. We...had many courses, from amouse bouche to dessert and every single course was a special and very tasty journey. I am so excited to come back to this place. The prices are above the average, but in my opinion the expirience is worth its price.More

Nice place with great view on the hill in old castle. Here we have got the biggest greeting from the kitchen ever. Reach I mean. All the food was constantly impressing. Very nice flavours. Perfectly done beefsteak. Soft, juicy, right done… just perfect it couldn’t...be better. Desert was unusual but interesting. We both think maybe there was too much ingredients on the plate. Less is more. Vine paring excellent. We recommend this restaurant.More

With my wife took Valentine's dinner according to menu with 6 dishes, which was 8 at the end. I can not choose one to say this one is the best, as all were excellent, great flavors and carefully combined ingredients. Pure perstige, thank you Chef...Marko. I wish I could say the same for service. We have reservation at 8 p.m., I guess some guests from previous group left tables late, so we had to wait outside until table was set. I think a small explanation and glass of wine could solve the issue, but no, after we set at the table for 10 minutes nobody came by. I understand, some guests were still waiting outside to get tables, so waitress was busy with that and another waiter already served dishes with other guests inside. After a while things got in order and we really enjoyed food, but we had to ask to get a glass of wine a few times as the waiter didn't served it.I would really like to rate this restaurant with 5 stars, because it deserve them, but sevice is part of it and this time failed. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely come back again.More

This is a place we always enjoy to visit. We have been here several times, and it is always an unforgettable experience. It is obvious that chef is one of the best chefs in Slovenia (if not the best!). Tastes are amazing, textures and methodes...of preparation are out of this world! And plates are perfect. I am relly happy that we have a “food gem” as Pavus so close to Celje! You can choose from chef menues- from 4 to 10 courses with great wine selection to different single dishes. We had 4 course menu (with two compliments from chef 6). I recomend it to everyone, it is worth every euro! :) it was so good we forgot to take pictures of every course. ;)More

The best meal I had in Slovenia. We had a 5 dishes chef menu (which was actually 7) and everything was delicious. My girlfriend is vegeterian and she loved it! If possible go here on a warm and sunny day, as it offers splendid view.

We came to Pavus with a small baby and were a bit hesitant to take the tasting menu. Btw... they were all so friendly and welcoming to the smallest ones. We are soooo happy that we decided to allow the Chef to design a menu...for us. It was a five course tasting menu which completely blew us away! The products are extremely good and meticulously combined to create a play of flavours. Nothing is missed. Often, chefs neglect some of the tastes or textures, this most certainly is not the case for Pavus dishes. All combos are well thought of, from simple tastes to combos with umami and different textures on each dish. Service was also amazing. Very friendly and professional. I was highly impressed with their knowledge of the product and food/wine in general. Rare to find so well trained service. We couldn’t drink as I was driving and my girlfriend is breastfeeding. The waiter was so understanding and kindly recommended two glasses paired with food. Re the prices... True that it is not on a cheaper side, I would say mid-range for the area. But the Value (not accidentally written with a capital V) for the what you get is exceptional. Well worth it. That’s why the title to this post is “Great Dining Experience of Exceptional Value”.More
