We had a table booked but thought we'd arrive early and get a cocktail. It wasn't very busy (2 other people there?) and we sat for about 10 minutes and a couple of waitresses flitted around but didn't ask us what we wanted or even...acknowledge us. When they finally did it was too late and we went upstairs with a bad feeling about this... However I'm pleased to say the restaurant was excellent, from the food, to service, to ambience, looking down over a busy town square. There is a picture of the excellent squid my wife had and I had the truffle pasta which was delicious. Didn't award 5 stars because of the bar experience and I'm aware people will just be interested in that aspect but overall, if you're thinking of a meal here, it's really nice and I would definitely go again.More

Disclaimer: My family and I were at the Velo Kafe just for a drink and an icecream, so I can't say anything about the food there. Since the reviews on here were mostly positive, we went there one afternoon, but were very disappointed with our...server. The middle aged lady that was our server seemed annoyed at us from the moment we sat down at the table (which was not reserved or anything, the place was empty). We talked to her in German because in the two weeks we had stayed in Labin, we found that was the language that most of the servers spoke. Maybe that set her off or something, because it seemed that she was not really trying to understand what we were saying either. As a result of that, she also got part of our order wrong. She was very brusque with us and when she brought our drinks, she thumped them down on the table. The young server that we received the bill from later was friendlier, so I wouldn't say all of the staff is like this - nonetheless, we didn't enjoy the treatment we received from that other one.More

Nice bar, restaurant in the center of the old fortress. The view is nice and the coffee is good. They have also food and cocktails.

We went to Velo Kafe in June 2020 and wanted to finish our holiday with a nice restaurant visit. Considering the last reviews weren't all positive we were a bit insecure but still wanted to try it out and thankfully we did! We sat on...the balcony and had a nice view on the town square. The service was excellent, very nice but still professional. Our dog was allowed in and they even brought him water. The price was very reasonable, considering how tasty the food was. 3/4 family members ordered the truffle pasta and it was FANTASTIC. Never had better truffle pasta. The pasta is handmade, and the pasta with the venison and red wine sauce was also very delicious. The tiramisu was also very tasty. After paying the tab we got offered schnapps/ an espresso on the house. All in all it was a nice evening and I would definitely recommend!More

We stopped for what we thought will be a quick drink. We waiter forever to get served. Other people who came after us, got served before us. Also they are a bit dated I think.

The restaurant is a level below the cafe, and it offers a warm, initimate atmosphere with just about a dozen tables. The menu has a variety of meat and fish dishes, from gourmet steaks to local seafood specialties. The waiters are efficient and polite, and...the food is outstanding.More

Visited together with my (Croatian!) girlfriend and we both really enjoyed the food and service! In terms of food - seafood tagliatelle and octopus, both were delicious. And when it came to service, helpful suggestions and perfect timing in terms of bring food and asking...if we required anything else. We will back over summer!More

We stopped at this place to have cake and coffee but what mistake. Waitress was very rude and unprofessional feeling a bit nervous. We needed to ask for the drinks 3 times and after we finally got the drinks she even didn't bother to apologise....Instead of the apology the only thing that we get was a very bad joke during the payment... I would definitely not recommend this place because of the very unprofessional service. When you are on your holiday you don't want to be treated like this.More

We were on a day trip to Labin, dodging the showers, and having looked around the central square, this is really the only place to go. It was very busy, but the smiley waitress coped very well with the five of us. I had a...large plate of tasty ham, eggs and salad for around 3 quid. Excellent. And a great place for people-watching.More

As a Local. I would recommend that you book a table. Because they get very busy now in the summer. But I am sure if you just walk in, it should be fine. If they're full. I would recommend going across the street to Napoli.
