My wife and I ate from the special Sunday lunch roast menu. I had belly pork and she had pork loin both of which were tasty and plentiful especially the crackling. We both finished with a dessert. All the food was of good quality and reasonably priced. The staff were all helpful and friendly. A good addition to our 'Sunday... More

Went here with the family with a small child. Sunday lunch was excellent. Well cooked and tasty. It was good value and if you didn't want a normal roast there was plenty of choice from usual menu. Service was quick and the staff were very good. Professional and courteous. The ambiance is really nice as its recently been refurbished in... More

We had an early evening meal in this restaurant today. Food was nothing special, mostly prepackaged and not as described on the menu. I ordered a burger and got just that despite the menu saying it was supposed to come with egg, bacon and onion rings. The bar and restaurant were tidy and the staff very pleasant. The bar itself... My other half and I stayed at the Cross Keys this weekend. It’s a “place of two halves.” Let’s start with the positive and then move onto the negative. The positive 1. The establishment has very polite, friendly staff. The manager who served us our Saturday evening meal and did out checkout on the Sunday was exemplary: attentive, friendly, polite... More

Visited for Sunday lunch with my partner and we really enjoyed ourselves. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I had bubble & squeak, slow-cooked rib of beef and the salted caramel sundae. My partner had smoked mackerel bruschetta, summer charcuterie burger and fudge cake. We loved every course! We were sat at a table tucked in the corner... More

Having eaten at a Chef and Brewer whilst in Cheshire last month (and enjoying the experience) and then receiving vouchers we decided to give our local one a try - and had a really positive experience. All the staff were really lovely and welcoming, the food was good, as was the wine - in taste and price. Yes it was... More

Visited last night as a couple, as usual nice food, good service. Tried the summer menu and went for lamb. Very well priced and ideal for a quiet drink afterwards.

We stopped in there for a quick tea after car shopping. The food was nice and ate all mine. The staff were good and I had a nice tea.

Food good though somewhat expensive, especially as we were not offered the set menu. The medium-rare steak had little pink meat while the cream in the crème brûlée had been too chilled and sugar simply blowtorched on top. The service was very friendly but incompetent: we had to ask for one person's meal after others had been brought and we... More
